So we've lost, let's hope it's not like London buses.

We’ll be running with a few tired legs I think for this one but I’d put most of the main group out there again and then take them out for the Everton game. The Salford game is the priority so I’d use these 2 games to make sure we’re ready for that one.

I’d go;

Pym
Johnson, Flint, Cargill, Macdonald
Clarke Reed Lewis
DKD
Swan & hopefully Akins.

For the Everton game I’d then try;

Flinders
Johnson, Williams, Cooper, McLaughlin
Maris, Brunt, Boateng
Abdullah, Oates, Bowery or Gale

Think it will be a tough night against Wrexham but hoping we play without feeling any pressure now the target is off our back and the main priorities lay elsewhere.

Unbeaten runs are usually followed by beaten runs. 2 0 Wrexham

When Arsenal's unbeaten run ended they drew the next three games. So I don't agree.
2-0 Stags :lol:

I've got a bad feeling about this game!

Important we bounce back as quickly as possible, I think Port Vales press forced us into going long and it didn't work as we had no real ariel threat up top, if Wrexham do the same, which I imagine they will, then we really need someone else up top if Akins isn't available, Bowery being the most obvious option. Think Clough may choose to go same front 2 which could cause us problems and coming off a loss it does have me worried. However in Clough we trust and if we play this one correctly we definitely have the beating of them.

I think Clough has a decision to make on team selection here, for the past 19 games the players on the bench couldn't of really questioned selection with us being unbeaten. Now that's gone, I suspect the likes of Williams, Johnson, Boeteng, will be expecting to start.

Why? Its one game against higher opposition. I wouldnt say ANY of them players deserved to be dropped. ONLY fitness should come into play imo

They have been sat on the bench all season, he hasn't changed an unbeaten team, Now that record has gone, Its a cup competition, I personally think players deserve a chance, lets not forget Johnson and Boeteng in particular could get in most teams in this league. Also Maris has been below par in the last 2 games, I wouldn't mind seeing Boeteng in for him and seeing what he can do.

For this cup game? Maris for Boeteng and I wouldn't mind seeing Johnson in for Bowery for a game, whoever plays better then deserves the spot for Salford. We looked leggy on Tuesday and this is what a squad is for.

Maris said in his interview last week that they know if they drop off then someone will be coming in for them and Tuesday night was the first time players standards dropped a little.

This will be a big test. It’s another chance for Palmer to stuff one up our fans and this time it will be live on the television. Him and Mullins will both be keen to improve on their efforts the other week and Wrexham have nothing to lose and the pressure will be off.

We will need to be on top of our game but I feel we should prevail if we play to our capabilities. Lucas will be a big loss but in a weird way it could work to our advantage as our own style will alter and Wrexham will have to adapt and any advantage of playing us recently will be diminished.

Hoping for a win but I can see it going to a replay before we ultimately progress.

It will be typical MTFC to get knocked out of two cup completions in 4 days having been unbeaten for all this time so I’m going away win.

If Flint wasn’t so critical at the back this would be something I’d consider

I'd like to see

Pym
Johnson Flint Brunt MacDonald
Reed
Lewis Clatke
DKD
Swan Bowery

We've lost Akins. That is the closest we have to a side capable of continuing to play the way we have. Or we try not to go direct to the forwards, and get them to run onto the ball as opposed to physically contesting it. What I mean by that is have them foot-race with the defender and not jockeying for position. Have Bowery up there and we can challenge for the long ball.
