"Rhys Oates and Stephen McLaughlin are coming along well. Realistically I think we are looking at the Everton game in the EFL Trophy on the 7th (Nov) for them both to feature. And Stephen Quinn will probably be a few weeks after that. Eilliott Hewitt's on schedule for February time."

Really good news about Elliot. Be like having a new player in.

I am pleased we have got the current group of fit players. Those coming back from either long term injuries or regular injuries may not reach their original levels.

I can’t see it sadly, especially with ACLs and Macca being out such a long time. Hope they do though

Great news on Macca, we've missed him going forward. Having said that McDonald has been really good the past few games.

I expect that McLaughlin will feature a little as a sub from time to time. But he'll be very far from match fit, and as he has an athletic style I can't see him making much of an impact this season. Oates should be able to get back up to speed a bit quicker, and with Swan being such a disappointment we could do with his defence-splitting runs to help with the "goals for" column.

Cracks me up how people are calling swan a disappointment. The thing that's disappointing is the excellent runs he's making are not being picked out.

He was signed up because of his goalscoring record more than his team play. He should be our best finisher, but if you think that one goal by mid October isn't disappointing you have very low expectations. He's OK with his general play, but it's his finishing that's most mportant.

That's what happens when you're injured through pre season. He will come good.

Our expectations should have been tempered by the fact that he was injured in pre-season and his return to the first team has coincided with games against top 7 sides. He also has moved from a loan place to 3 year contract which puts more pressure on him.
I think he will come good but he is clearly not performing to the levels that we would have hoped had he had a full pre-season and continued with his 2022/23 season form. He is a good long term prospect

And he needs to be given a run of games, an opportunity for which is coming up now.
