Mansfield Museum exhibition

Postby Martin Shaw » Sun Sep 17, 2023 7:51 am

March 2024 will see the opening of a brand new exhibition at Mansfield Museum. Football: The Beautiful Game.
The project will explore all things football, from grass roots and the beginnings of the game to the Premier League and WSL. We will look at how the game is portrayed in TV, film and in gaming, how it is governed plus so much more.
Part of the exhibition will focus on Mansfield Town F.C. and we are keen to speak to supporters about their memories, experiences and love of the Stags. We will record these conversations as a video compilation to be played in the exhibition.
We will be at Field Mill on Thursday 5th October making these recordings, if you have stories to share and would like to get involved please email Kirsty Sanders, Museum Development Officer at ksanders@mansfield.gov.uk.

Are you a parent, coach or player involved in grassroots football? Are you part of the women’s game? Or are you just passionate about the game and have memories and stories to share. If so we’d love to talk to you at one of our oral history sessions.

The idea behind collecting oral histories is to get people talking about their memories and lived experience, with that in mind we don’t set many questions but use open questions to instigate conversations. If you’ve got a story to tell us then join us at one of our recording sessions

14 November 5pm to 7pm - Mansfield Museum

Email or call to book your slot, ksanders@mansfield.gov.uk, 01623 463080

Thanks so much
