We haven't a small squad.

We’ll be fine.
At least we can do something about it at this stage.

For those that haven’t seen my newsletter, this was a bit of correlation between injuries and minutes player so far, Callum Johnson has the joint most, and Kilgour was 3rd if you take out the Airdrieonians practice match. Also both of them had played very minute of every competitive game so far.

Played three league games REALLY

I doubt clubs will let us have their players in case they get cropped

I was thinking that Bobby! We are the perfect club to loan players, look at Stirk, Harbottle, Swan and Bishop to name a few.

I think this is a big factor. There was absolutely no reason for us to keep a practically unchanged team in the cup game against Grimsby when we had another midweek game this week. I think the management team need to take a step back and really assess what can be done to improve going forwards.

Aden Flint has come in without a full pre season and has now started 3 games in the space of a week and looks set to start another to make it 4 games in 11 days. For a player who is 34 years old could we really cry bad luck if he picked up an injury on Saturday?

The knee-jerk side of me (and I don't really do knee-jerk) thinks we need to exploit the loan market to cover our bases; with perhaps a couple of defensive loans. We certainly don't have a small squad but we can't afford to slip into autumn in the mire.

I think that as a support base we're absolutely gun-shy from the injury woes of the last couple of years and it's made us naturally nervous of what next is around the corner.

That's the majority of us; not the flaps that need a scapegoat for our woes.

Cargill limping -Quinn off at halftime

9 injuries before the game now potentially 11 a first team nearly.

This is not bad luck , we should have enough in the squad to deal with injuries. Not putting Bowery at CB. If we play him there against Stockport he will be out of his depth.

A reasonable result today but why does it feel like the thread bare situation three league games in ?

Don’t even know what to say about our injury situation anymore. It’s a serious, serious problem. Third season on the trot. It’s a joke to have this many players injured this early in the season. Constantly picking up injuries all season will stop us from getting promoted - they’re just constantly chipping away at us every single week.

I’d like to say that surely our ‘injury luck’ will turn, but we’ve got a two and a bit year sample size now to show us that we’re completely incapable of keeping a good amount of players fit at any one time. Having so many players out throughout the season will catch up with you - it means the same players who are fit are having to play 90 minutes Saturday - Tuesday - Saturday - Tuesday for long stretches of the season, and that’s what caused our downfall last season. Hopefully we aren’t ravaged by injuries for large parts of the season but it seems unlikely that we won’t be.

Hartigan who was in and out of injury goes on loan. See
If he gets injured lower down in the leagues

I put on another feed we MUST invest in a top recoup coach plus take the squad up by five . If you loan out a 28 day recall

Players under 21 don't need registering in a squad.

Players over 21 need to be registered in our squad when the registration window closes(which is the transfer window.)

We won't have a 28-day recall on Hartigan because we can't use him even if we did recall him after 28 days because we would be unable to register him as a squad member at that point.

So who are you blaming for the injuries that we get? Because you're suggesting that someone is to blame, so who's your scapegoat?

5 extra players at a cost of c£375,000 (plus NI) and a rehab specialist at 50k ish?

I'm sure John will have that as loose change somewhere.

Plus any recall clause has to adhere to EFL rules.

Other than that, good ideas all round.

If the unprecedented amount of injuries carried on forever, how far down the line is it that you would rule out bad luck? Another season, 2 seasons, 6 months, never?

With all the added time (saw some games in league 2 hit 90+14) maybe we will see a return of short term loans?

I ruled out bad luck half way through last season, the Oates shoulder is unlucky but the rest?
Obviously you are going to get injuries but not at the rate we do.

Who are you blaming for impact injuries?

Most of them were last season, and they happened in games too... not training.

We are now playing Flint, Clarke and Swann , all who obviously aren’t fully fit and are injuries waiting to happen

How do you expect them to get fit then?

They have to play matches to get match fit..

Flint seems to have got up to speed very quickly.
