What's the current position with the canopy over part of the fan zone
Also what's happening with the building of the hotel

I doubt they'll ever get round to constructing the hotel.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Strange to link the hotel with promotion. Surely the viability of the hotel in not dependant on away teams and fans.
If we get promoton to league one I would still prefer the money spent on getting further promotion instead of on the Bishop Street Stand and risk relegation. Lets fill the ground every week before expansion.

Hotel is still as it was, I was looking over the plans again yesterday and it looks brilliant.

Where are the plans FTS ? Are they available for everyone to view ? Wouldn't mind a look myself.

https://planning.mansfield.gov.uk/onlin ... ab=summaryPermission runs out 4th July 2021, so must be started before then.

Apparently Lionel and Cristiano were approached in the summertime but refused to sign when shown a pic of t'BS.

It’s incredibly frustrating that we missed out on promotion, but to think we could have had both the hotel & BSS built too

If one of these projects were to commence then it would bring back some of the buzz that had been missing recently.
Very much a chicken and egg situation.
Do you wait for promotion to justify the builds or do you build in preparation for promotion.
Teams offer do well on the pitch after investment in new stadium infrastructure.
It'll be a shame if these projects get shelved, especially the hotel as that has a big impact on the town more widely.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Would love to see the hotel built as i believe this would be a massive plus point for the town and also will give the entire external side of the IGU and QLE a face lift along with better landscaping of the training pitch, walkays around the stands and carparks.
For the time being if it was me id spend the minimum possible on the bishop street in getting it opened up again. its an extra 500-600 seats for us to house away fans or overflow for away fans.

No buzz,
No hotel likely for years,
No Bishop St refurbishment whilst in League Two, so probably won't happen either.

Thats one good gust of wind away from impaling itself on "the gate" thus rendering the gate im-mobile.

Looks good, shame planning and ground layout doesnt permit it going out a bit further. Good nonetheless

Do we need the training pitch anymore now we have RH academy? Would be a perfect spot for a proper covered fan zone or a club house incorporating a big bar and a club shop.
That canopy they've installed is better than nothing but on rainy days the Sandy Pate is rammed beyond belief and you can't move in the canopy area either.

We will be in the Premier League before the hotel is built.
Two reasons..
1) It will cost too much.
2) There is no demand for another hotel in Mansfield. The developer of the proposed hotel on the old bus station cannot find any interested parties so hasn't built it. All we got were 3/4 hideous looking portakabin type fast food joints, as if Mansfield needed anymore.

I hope the canopies can be removed on sunny days. that area is a sun trap so it'd be a shame to have it shaded.
