Nothing on the racism allegations then Pearce lodged?

My guess is the FA will wait for the police investigation.

Wonder whether the level of fine indicates the level of guilt or the financial level of football. Presuming with the bans being the same length it is about finance.

Could possibly be the equivalent of a week's wages for each. If that's the case, then the FA have bottled their responsibility. Foriestieri was the sole instigator of the brawl and even after it had calmed down he sucker punched Butcher when he tried to shake his hand. The scumbag should have a much higher fine and lengthier ban. And that's not even getting onto the racism allegation. Let's hope the police investigation adds a bit on to his punishment.

At one point I thought they had fined Mellis £25,000, Christ.

Yeah I think that's what happened in the John Terry-Anton Ferdinand case. No TV evidence for this one though.

As always it’s not what happened but what you can prove beyond doubt. I hope we have enough evidence but if it’s 1 person’s word against another who do you trust? Obviously we trust and back KP but that’s not enough for an outsider

No, there needs to have been someone else who heard it - preferably not another of our players.

This will inevitably blow over through lack of evidence.
Wednesday fans will blow off about Pearce using the race card and lying.
As usual with this type of thing it's one person's word against another.
Doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

I would have thought that the FA would have awaited the Police investigation outcome first to see if the racism was a catalyst before announcing their verdict
Seems the wrong way round legally to me.
Mellis hopefully wont be too badly missed as he has not been featuring much recently anyway.

Can't for 1 minute think that the club would be foolish enough to make such a claim without some concrete evidence to back this up. Overheard CJ talking to some of his friends in the car park after the game and he commented that the police had advised Pearce to press charges.

The Chad article states that the allegations of racism are still under investigation.

I wouldn't take anything The Chad say as truth
Article will come out shortly 'Midfielder Jason Mellis has been banned for 3 games after a mass brawl during the friendly match with Sheffield United, Christine Pearce was allegedly racially abused by Sheffield Wednesday's Fernando Frostyear"

I've had a debate on Twitter with a Wednesday fan commenting on Pearce being a liar about racial slurring, proportioning blame on Pearce's brother. Apparently this lad who goes on social media to make spurious comments about someone's accusations of racial slurring would never mention a similar incident to his own brother if he was called a 'white so and so.'
The internet is shoehorned with dense bozos.

That only leaves the ref then. It certainly won't be one of Wednesday's players.

Does this mean that the video footage of the punch up can finally be uploaded?

Hopefully Forestieri gets what is deserved when before the FA for his digusting behaviour. But, having been to tribunals at Notts at lower levels I honestly and regrettably can’t see Forestieri getting what is deserved.

Said from day one that the ref must be involved. He included it in his match report which must mean either a) he heard the comment or b) the racism allegation was made on the pitch.
No way that someone would take this further without strong supporting evidence.

No chance will this go any further. If one of our players goes as a witness they won't be 'impartial', if one of their players heard it there's no way they'll go against one of their own & clearly the referee didn't hear anything otherwise he would've sent him off. Case closed sadly.
