Found this on YouTube - 2004 Play Off Final

Postby StagsForLIFE » Fri Aug 03, 2018 11:38 pm

Huddersfield posted a 9 minute video of the play off final back in 2004 last year and noticed it earlier on YouTube. No idea if it has already been put on here before but just found it an interesting watch albeit not the result we wanted.

It was a few months back.

A video of if "only's".

If only JR had been in charge then it would now be us in the premier league  .... or maybe not....

How one eyed is that? I remember us being the bette side. Surely we had more than one shot at goal?

Can't watch something where we were denied promotion by a linesman.

I had the same thought Doomy for years but not until I found footage taken from a different angle shows the ball out by least a foot....

However it doesn't excuse the linesman taking a guess of the ball being out or in because he wasn't fit enough to keep up with the speed of the game.

Long journey back that day and over the years for Mansfield Town supporters...

I'd love to see the footage you mention. This one only gives a distant view and it can't be seen to be completely over the line. Mind you, the linesman clearly had x-ray binoculars if he was certain that the whole ball was clear of the line. Also he appears to be flagging offside, although perhaps the "ball out of play" signal is the same.

I think it looks like he is flagging for offside because he has gone back level with the six yard box to signal for a goal kick.
