Looking back when we first met,

loads of fans would rather forget,

You couldn't do no right,

They all said you were sheeeite,

And wanted Evans back again.

Nothing screams football like atomic kitten.

Can't we come up with something original?

It's lamer than Tiny Tim from A Christmas Carol :P

Perhaps if whoever thought of it hadn't wore their brains out after replacing 4 words it could have been much better ;)

Agreed, the words are making me cringe just looking at them.

Worst football adaptation ever of a truely diabolical pop song.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

That's football song creativity looping circles around the toilet pan right there.

I've only just stopped staring disbelievingly at people gobbing it out in the pub during WC2018.

For me there is nothing better than a full QLE, and Ian Greaves stand belting out YELLOWS YELLOWS YELLOWS, It doesn't happen a lot but when it does it's cosmic. Perhaps this season

YELLOWS is pretty much on par with the thread opening post dirge, ie shouldn't be sung imo.
C'mon you Stags,
Mansfield till I die

If I had the wings of a Sparrow.
Stand up if you hate Spireites etc sound much better.

yellow and BLUE ARMY should be reworded
BLUE and AMBER ARMY (it's what I sing when the chant goes up)

Never yellow ALWAYS AMBER.

I'm thinking more of togetherness mark, for instance you wouldn't get both stands singing if I had the wings of a sparrow, the young uns wouldn't know that anyway. it has to be simple and effective.

Also the old argument, yes we play in Amber but AMBERS AMBERS AMBERS doesn't quite sound right

I've asked this before but why at Stags do we sing 'come on you stags' wrong?

I hate that stuccato COME.....ON....YEW....STAGS.

A more traditional CUUUUUUUHMON YOOOOOOOO STAAAAAAAAAGGZZZZ!!!!!! generates loads more noise, we sung it old school in the old NS up until the 80s then some bozo intoduced this ice hockey style crap and it's stuck ever since.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Can't quite get that with a hangover sneag,, but yes , to get the unison of both stands and to generate noise it has to be simple,

Looking back on when we first met,
I can not explain and I cannot forget,
Baby you're the one,
You still make me come,
You can like my hole again.
Cause youth’s a mask, and it don’t last.
Live it long and live it fast.
