He's a well paid professional footballer working to a recently signed new contract for a club who took him from non-league obscurity.

If he bangs in another 10 before the season's out he'll get other less rushed options in the summer should we decide to sell.

To be honest I thought the dippers did quite well .. To hang on to Dennis and add Dodds isn't a bad days work . Still i think it's defence were they needed better quality additions

To be fair their defence has improved ever since Evatt and Hird both got injured. Why it's taken that to happen without the best manager on the planet not realising they were simply not good enough long before then is baffling. How many teams who leaked goals for fun in a relegation season, would then keep the same centre halves for the next campaign? It'd be like us keeping Moore and Lever the following season.

As you are obviously an aficionado of all things Spireites it is a bit remiss of you not to point out that Sir Jack had no other option but to play the Hird/Evatt combo. They were the only two specialist CBs at the club apart from a 20 year old who was injured anyway. Wiseman could've filled in but clearly wasn't fancied in that position or any other as it turned out. As soon as the window opened replacements were found and we will never know whether they would've been replaced anyway. I suspect at least one of them would've been as one of the replacements has been signed a 2.5 year deal

Incidentally a crap defence like we undoubtably had is more than just about a CB pairing.
