Striker heads back to Mansfield

Striker Adi Yussuf has returned to parent club Mansfield Town after ending his loan spell with the club.

Head Coach Dermot Drummy confirmed the news ahead of today's tussle with Leyton Orient at the Matchroom Stadium.

Yussuf joined Crawley from the Stags in August and made 22 appearances for Reds, including ten starts, and scored three goals.

Dermot said: "Adi's loan was due to end on January 22 but he has returned to Mansfield now ahead of the transfer window.

"I'd like to thank Adi for his efforts at our club. He was a popular lad in the dressing room and scored some important goals for us. We wish him all the best for the future."

Before Mansfield's game with Morecambe, Paul Raynor, in pre-match interview with Charlie Slater on Radio Nottingham confirmed that Crawley “didn’t want him”. After the game Steve Evans said he would "be back for a short time, shorter than some people think", suggesting that he’ll be going out on loan again.
