It could be the last season for match day programmes.

I normally get a programme, but didn’t see anyone selling them last night.

Was there one produced last night?

In previous seasons, the same one was produced for all PSF games.

I think the real debate here is the medium you use - paper or online. I’m not that media savvy but presumably producing something via social media could retain advertising revenue.

This debate is really a reflection of the debate in the broader of the print industry.

I don’t think match day programmes are widely produced on the continent

Wil follow the debate with interest

I always used to buy one and have thousands in a box in my loft. I very rarely get one now. I do think the days of the paper programme are numbered but can see an electronic version, used by many clubs during stadium closure, replacing them.

I used to buy one every game, then dropped down to one or two per season. I can't remember the last time I bought one.

I really enjoyed the season review magazine the club did this year & I'd certainly buy one of those every season.

I think for programmes to survive they have to provide content that the club doesn’t allow to be published elsewhere. If it’s available for free somewhere else why would anyone pay for it.

Always a good read at half time but limited new and exclusive content due to the internet.

I think they will soon be like rosettes, something everyone once wanted by now assigned to history.

The programme for me was the record i kept of grounds i visited, and was part of match day experience i read it when i got home put it in a box in the spare room.
[ History ], not to the wife after many riffs, being wise i moved them to the garden shed, as the years went by their was no room for my tools.
Sadly unless you are a avid collector they get dumped,
Time catches up with everything and the internet- ifollow- means you get all the club news daily and a record of grounds you visit are in your memory.
If i see a programme seller i still get one, but not bothered if i dont

Haven't bought home programmes regularly since my stepson used to come to the games with me as a youngster, as he enjoyed reading them.
The only time I buy a programme now is on my first visit to a new ground as a momento of the occasion, with only one ground visited that I didn't manage to get one from (so if anyone has a programme from the FA Cup game at Cardiff City Stadium in January 2018 that they are willing to sell, please drop me a message !!).
It would be sad to see them go as they are a tradition of football, but the internet has definitely made them a lot less relevant in the modern era.

I'd probably be more incline to purchase a monthly magazine rather than a programme every week.

Programmes will disappear. They’re just not relevant any more.

I worked games in Belgium, France, Germany & Switzerland last year and all of them had ‘magazines’ rather than programmes and they were free, just laid out on tables in concourses or handed to you outside the ground if you wanted them. Some were only a few pages.

Still collect them when available..only missing a handful since the 70s

If anybody has Stags V Darlington 11/12 or Stags v Wimbledon 13/14 that they would be willing to sell ,then I’d pay good money for them both!

Great work, KirkbyStag, that truly is a thing of beauty! I really hope they are able to survive but it must be so difficult to sustain, especially as high a quality as we've been given for so long, now. Perhaps intermittently released would work? Like, one every other month?

Nice. I have them all (home) from our Division 3 title winning season in 76-77.
Don't think I've bought 1 since.

I’ve got loads of programmes from the 70s somewhere in the garage. My grandad used to work for Fenton Printers at the bottom of Quarry Lane and they printed them.
