He's got a great throw in his armoury, which will be good to have has an option for us and can be important to have at our level. Dan's a great defender but he's also good going forward and delivering crosses, he'll give us options in a number of positions defensively. He's a very good acquisition for us."

Tranmere Rovers have signed centre half Nat Knight-Percival from promotion winning Morecambe and midfielder Chis Merrie from Wigan Athletic who made 24(2) league apps for them in League 1 last season.

They have also given another one year contract to 39 year old youngsters Joe Murphy and Peter Clarke.

Tranmere don't seem to have issued a retained list yet so I am guessing there are lots of players whose contracts have expired who they may be negotiating with.

I don't think there are any parachute payments apart from Premier League to Championship (4 years) and EFL to National League (2 years)
