Macclesfield FC have been put in Northern West Counties Premier League (Step 5) which is a bit hard on AFC Bury who are one league below in NWCL Division 1. They can look forward to local derbies against Wythenshawe Town and Winsford United.

No sign of any application from Bury FC.

There are two differences between Bury and Macclesfield. Bury are in fact a brand new club before the original Bury FC died. The highest a new club can enter can go is into Step 6 which they did last season. whereas Macclesfield are an official Phoenix club and the rules state they can start again at two leagues below where they folded or Step 5 whichever is the lower.
Those accustomed to privilege may feel that equality is oppression.

They've got a plastic pitch now and have painted the main stand a dark grey colour. The new bar there looks fantastic as well.
