Roddy Collins has to be one of the worst strikers we’ve had in my time, not that I would have told him that

The pitch doesn’t help bouncing about all over the place . Plus you don’t get time on the ball as a striker .

Ross Dyer, Liam Hearn, Alan Russell were worse than reid imo
Your opinion. I agree he's bad and struggling to think of worse
I think the issue is that we have never given someone so poor at hitting the target a run in the team. There will have been many worse but none of them will have had so many starts

Excellent performance by the Stags apart from the comedy of errors for the goal which was the only thing Aidan Stone and Ryan Sweeney did wrong all game. Could have been 7-0 up at half time with hat-tricks from Tyrese Sinclair and Jamie Reid. I counted 13 possible goalscoring opportunities for the Stags in the first half and 20 in total.
George Maris was my MOM. He ran the show in midfield (79 touches) and was involved in three of the four goals. He also made a great defensive block in the 2nd half. Stephen McLaughlin and Stephen Quinn combined very well again down the left as illustrated by the second goal and McLaughlin demonstrated his very useful versatility by easily moving into midfield when Jayden Charles came on. George Lapslie (8 league goals) showed that he is our best goalscoring midfield player since Ben Whiteman (7 goals), Lee Stevenson (11 goals) and Liam Lawrence (19 goals) by bagging another two goals. Keaton Ward had a very good debut in midfield and did enough to be given a chance next season.
Tyrese Sinclair was a constant menace up front. He could have had a hat-trick in the first half and had a very good penalty shout. Jamie Reid played really well apart from sticking the ball in the back of the net. He really deserved his goal and got the assist for the first goal. He could have scored five if he had taken his chances. I think it is worth giving him another go as a back up striker next season.
James Perch had a very solid game at the back and so did Ryan Sweeney apart from his error. Kellan Gordon also gave us the option of getting crosses in from the right as well as left.
We totally outplayed Oldham who have some good players and deserved to win by more goals. Nicky Adams had a poor game for Oldham. He won't be happy playing under Keith Curle.
If we can sign a few more quality players then we will be a force to be reckoned with next season.

Clough quite clear their shambles goal was down to the goalkeeper. I agree . He also said there is unlikely to be more contracts handed out to the existing squad apart from Quinn so I think we can expect a new number 1 unless Stech finds his gloves .
I feel for Sweeney a bit . He had a good game and could fully have expected Stone to claim that . Surorised Martin and Dean saw it the other way . Opinions . But the managers one counts .

It wasn’t a pen Darren, it was outside the area.
Nicky Adams played under Curle last season at Northampton and got promoted so I don’t see why he wouldn’t be happy there.
Other than that, a good assessment.

I have not watched the penalty shout back Sam but the Oldham commentators thought it was a penalty. They also implied that Nicky Adams was not a happy bunny.

I’ll pitch in with Rob Duffy as case for worst striker ever, he was literally made of rubber when the ball came to to him, it’d bounce of him in random directions.
Spoon boots Reid has run him close this season though

At the end of the day stone should have come out regardless. As soon as the ball bounced and Sweeney was between the ball and the attacker he should have come out. What if Sweeney was dispossessed? Stone is rooted to his line.
I'd have to look again at it but if stone doesn't come could Sweeney have shielded it for a goal kick? Stone dived at his feet and the ball squirmed back to the attacker.

I watched the replay and paused at the moment of contact to make sure.
