I agree about Perch and Quinn. Both brilliant.

If we can get another season or two out of them then we’ll do well

I would imagine they'll be good to have in the dressing room with players like Law and Sinclair etc with their experience in the game.

Thing about age is there comes a point where your body is unable to compete at the level required. The mind is willing but the body loses that half a yard of pace. We saw it all with Bish in his second season. When that point comes makes it a slight gamble with all mid thirties players when taking them on. If Quinn and Perch remain at their present fitness levels we have two quality players.

I think we relied on Bish too much, he was fantastic in that first season but it wasn't just his physicality that caused his down turn in form. Mentality wise, not getting promoted would have been a big factor too. The manager going and other bits.

Bish was a experienced pro and will be used to ups and downs of footy, so missing out to me wasn't the problem. If it was then there's no surprise we missed out in the first place.

Completely agree. I’m pleased Perch has signed on for another year and really hope Quinn does as well, but we’ve got to make sure we have solid players that can replace them when they need a rest. We already have some solid depth in midfield which Clough obviously knows, and I’m sure we’ll do the same in defence.

He also appears to be scouting someone and it may be a clue if we have opposition for a signature and which club may be interested in our target.

Also nice to see Nigel wearing his club jacket.

I couldn’t believe it when he walked past me and I saw the stags badge on his leg, especially when we were both in Scotland.

He can’t help himself. At least we’ll be spared from it from 3pm today thankfully.

Oh do lighten up Francis. You don’t mind dishing it but you don’t half get precious if someone ribs you.

Footballers today can have longer careers and Perch , Quinn brings lots of experience on and off the field and managed care fully, bring confidence when things take a down turn.
This being a 18 man game age can be managed

Age is just a number especially for a footballer.I reached my peak fitness wise in my mid thirties with no bad injuries. It is injuries that slow you down.I am pretty sure if we had had Henderson at 36 and Hoolahan at 38 we woud not have been in the lower half of the league.Leave it to Nigel he will improve the team for sure.

I disagree regarding Bish. What I saw was our ridiculously poor pre season gave the whole side a poor "base" fitness which saw them all struggle. We'd ran out of stem by the time Dempster was sacked. We saw it in the challenges that got us into poor disciplinary.

His age factored into it where people saw it as his legs have gone when really it could have just been the poor pre season that affected everybody.

 I was waiting for that.

Sinclair is right footed but has mostly feature on the left where he can cut inside.

I didn't want to disappoint.

Also Perch is a right back. I forgot that one. I was too busy writing about Gordon

He's played more games at CB this season, plus this graphic only allows two per position, and as Gordon ( :D ) and O'Keeffe are RB's, my hands were tied
