Rawson injury; update: Rawson "feeling better"

Postby chip63 » Sat Apr 24, 2021 7:37 pm

Any updates on him appreciated, from what Clough says he was out cold even when the physio got to him, I know he was awake and going to hospital but heard nothing more.
Clough seemed annoyed they didn't communicate.

Wish him a speedy recovery and hope all is going well.

Straight after the game, Stags boss Nigel Clough gave an update on Rawson: “He is awake now - he wasn’t at the time Tom [Whittamore, head physio] got onto the pitch, as he’d been knocked unconscious. He's going to hospital to get checked out. So hopefully he’ll be okay - he didn’t remember too much about the incident, which is pretty normal I think in those sorts of injuries. The medical staff here were brilliant, they were straight on to it and looked after him brilliantly.”

He needs to be returned to play properly under HIA protocols.

He'll not be risked now even if he seems OK.

I'm glad it sounds like he is fine, he can have a long rest and recuperate, he's an important player for us and has been outstanding since NC took over.

With 2 games left if all is well he will need at least 7 days recovery, so i dont think the club will take any chances with him, have a good summer and come back ready for pre seasoni , take our best wishes for a speedy recovery

Must of been dreadful for any of his family watching, never really thought about it before but being a parent I can only imagine the stress they must of been going through without knowing the outcome.

Really good to hear FR is feeing better.

I wouldn't play him from the start of the final game. Perhaps bring him on from the bench just to ease him back in before the season ends.

We could play Perch at centre half and give young Clarke a run at right back for the last two games.

Fairly good news, it's going to be 19 days before he is allowed to play in a game, 14 days of rest before training starts, if no symptoms, unless we have same medical staff as prem clubs with scans and neurological doctors etc.. Then it's 6 days which is frightening.

Take your time mate absolutely no need to return this season.

I’d say take yourself off on holiday, rest and recuperation will be the best medicine. No point rushing back from a head injury when the season is over.

I'm sure he is contracted for next season, which is a good thing, not many better at this level I don't think, amazing after his dodgy start to the season!

Good news that Faz has come through this.
You only need to look at Ryan Mason, currently managing Spurs, to see how this could have ended up.

Wishing him a speedy recovery

Are you saying you need to have had a bang on the head to manage Spurs? :D

Give him the rest of the season off. I'm sure Sweeney and Perch can cover last 2 games. Besides Clough wanted to give game time to a right back so it all works out. It doesn't really matter if J. Clarke has a nightmare game we're safe, it would be nice to finish the season winning but by no means is it a prerequisite.

Now is as good a time as any to experiment. If it fails then we know for next season. If it succeeds we can save a bit of cash next season.

Just wondered about how its affected his confidence. Personally I think it would be best to give him half an hour in the last game. Obviously he's not allowed to play this Saturday.

Think its worth mentioning how excellent the medical staff were at Salford. I have never seen people get on a pitch so quickly and you could tell that every effort was made to provide the very best treatment. So glad to hear he is ok and we need to build a team around him, Lapslie & Sinclair next season.
