Rhys Bennett is probably out injured for the rest of the season along with Brennan Dickenson.

He'll probably still be able to make the open top bus tour of Carlisle though in May as Carlisle show off the League 2 Trophy.

"Doncaster Rovers head of talent identification, Adam Henshall has been appointed as the new head of emerging talents and loans at Aston Villa. 27 year old Henshell joined Doncaster from Shrewsbury Town in December 2019 and will be involved in the appointment of his successor at Rovers. His move to Villa could have long-term spin-offs for Rovers regarding the establishment of a strong working relationship with Villa, who loaned highly-rated midfielder Jacob Ramsey to the club for a spell last term."

Very surprised at this and suspect that they won’t get the promotion they are chasing.

I suppose only having a month left on his contract made it an easier choice to make for them

If the form they under now was at the start of the season you could fully understand, soon find out if they got it right or wrong.

I’m not as surprised. A month ago they were one point off the top in 2nd and 8pts clear of 8th.

They’re now 10pts off the top, and 2pts clear of 8th.

That being said, they are only 5pts from the autos.

I like Mark Cooper as he always comes over as slightly mad with a bit of an edge to him. He has a decent record and will make someone a decent manager. Southend should sack Phil Brown and appoint him as manager if they are relegated.

I didn't say I was surprised. I said it was ridiculous. Nothing should surprise us the way some clubs act.

I wouldn’t have been surprised had he not been renewed at the end of the season. He’s had a good five years there, but if they missed out again, then it was probably time for a change.

The surprise for me is that I didn’t think Vince was the type to react in this way
