-Talks about how felt so lucky to become a professional. We matched his JCB wages and he didn't want anything more. A few of the directors were unhappy when he first came in as a part time player.
-Ben Hutchinson and Gary Roberts most gifted players he has played with but not commitment. Roberts only turned up on Thursday and Fridays and was still the best player in training.
-Talked about the Jamie Hand stories
-Said Cox's budget halved in the second season back in the league. Loves Coxy, still talks to him.
-Knew when Murray took over his time was up as Murray wanted to change style, got nothing against him.
-Spoke about a pre-match warm up fight between Green and Howell. Warm up was cancelled, both players were packing their bags in changing room but Cox resolved it and Green scored. Said it was an away game but couldn't remember which.
-Also told the story about Woking away, brick through the window.

Talked a lot about Lincoln too and the Cowley's.

Any mention of Hereford away? (i assume not as im sure you would of noted it down)

No, no mention.

he does mention it actually - but doesn't say a lot - it's a long chat - easy to miss bits -

I listened to the audio version rather than the video version which tends to be a bit longer, so may be in that.

Was particluarly interested to hear him talk about the Cowley brothers - detailed analytics for every opposition - lots of schoolroom work - less emphasis on long distance fitness training - get the balls out first thing in pre-season

I loved Matt Rhead, he did exactly what he said on the tin.

Really pleased he went onto have the success at Lincoln.

Those things are par for the course for managers and head coaches in the profesional game.

Trying to work out which away game Green and Howell had a punch up during pre match warm up.

He says all players were dragged off pitch by Coxy and they all sat in changing room for half an hour before game.

Can’t recall Martin’s match report containing all this.

Rheady then says Green comes on and scores and Howell and Greeny are hugging each other as best mates.

Well it obviously made an impression on Rheady as something different, maybe in terms of degree, that the Cowleys were doing, compared to others which he had worked under in his experience, albeit limited, in the professional game.

He was at the time of the interview, he's rumoured to be joining Chester I believe.

Gary Roberts is captain at Chester, with Bern and Jonno as manager.
That would be a good club to go to.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he has a few details muddled up as he said earlier in the episode that Fleetwood beat us in the play offs and not York.

The fight will have happened but I can’t remember Green being on the bench too much when he was on fire and then coming on and scoring. Howell being a sub and coming on and celebrating a Green winner is more likely I reckon.

Murray should have used him correctly. Shame he didn't rate him. Really showed what he could do at Lincoln.

Matt could be a very good signing for Boreham as they are nicely placed in the playoff positions with 2 games in hand over the leaders.

He not only brings his considerable playing skills but also the experience of three promotion campaigns (with us and 2 with Lincoln). That could be invaluable at that level and I'm sure his new manager recognises that.

Two lads in a few weeks saying Palmer tried to sign them for Stags.

Andy Welsh, who was on the verge of a big move to Sunderland but Carlton still though he could sign him.

And Matt Glennon, was due to play on a friendly but pulled out the last minute to go Falkirk as Palmer offered him rubbish money.

I might be losing the plot here but I’m sure I photographed him wearing our keepers shirt at the team photo shoot in pre season. Him and Des Walker both individual shots but they weren’t in the team photos.

Quite possibly Dan, it was the same summer (2005).

Matt Glennon was in the team photo that year, so must’ve been pretty close

Latest podcast with Steven Davies has lots of stories about Clough. Very different to how I imagined him to be.

The bit about Bywater was mad with him threatening to kill him and his family and then walking off clapping England's no 1
