I always remember Adam Murray gushing with praise over Collo as a man.

I AM DEEPLY SAD TO HEAR ABOUT THE DEATH OF LEE COLLINS. A PLAYER THAT I ENJOYED WATHCHING. HE GAVE HIS ALL AT STAGS AND IT WAS SAD WHEN HE LEFT. MAY I SEND MY HEART FELT SADNESS TO HIS FAMILY AND TO THE FOOTBALL WORLD.

Heart broken R.I.P Lee

Remember seeing Lee when he joined down at Rainworth and thinking what a good signing we had made .
Played well and very vocal to his team mates .

I was in club shop and he was at the other counter when i remarked to some one in the queue next to me we would 4-0 and he remarked back 4-0 you think and i said yes and we did win 4-0 .

I always referred to him as Commander Collins ,

I don’t know about anyone else but this has really affected me today. Usually I’m quite sad when someone I know passes away but this has really taken the wind from my sails. It’s just so unfair on all of his girls. Still can’t quite believe it’s true :( :(

Awful news. A warrior on the pitch and the fact he was a captain at every club he was at speaks volumes.

With no suspicious circumstances I can only assume it's that biggest killer in young men again, why?! :'( RIP Lee.

Let’s hope it’s not that mate. It could have been an undetected underlying medical condition. I really hope it was for the sake of his girls.

You may well be right but then again you could be completely wrong, Don’t think there is any need to assume, speculate or take a guess in situations such as this. Pay your respect by all means but don’t try to attach a label just yet.

What ever the cause it is an extremely sad and traumatic time for his nearest and dearest.

Sincere condolences.

Thoughts are with lees family. Still shocked by this

The response from the football community has been great to see, also didn't realize how many clubs he captained

I’m not going to speculate but this has made me reflect on how much pressure players are under, particularly at our level, as seasons and contracts come to an end.

The constant worry about a new contract balanced with the day to day pressures of family life must be immense.

I still can’t get my head around this

Agree. Let’s just pay our respects and what happened will come out in time.
