4,000 capacity by mid May

Postby Random Hero » Mon Feb 22, 2021 4:24 pm

Just reading into the announcement today. 4,000 capacity for outdoor sporting venues (or half full, whichever is greater), under which Stags would come, by 17th May.

Lets hope for a shed load of postponements so the season runs until June!

Had DF been manager we'd still be playing post 17th May as we'd be in the play-offs ;)

On a serious note we can have a pint outdoors from mid April.

Can we PLEASE ensure the Sandy Pate bar is ready?!

The club would have loads of space for social distancing with the outside bars they used last season.

Not sure how they would cope with social distancing for the urinals at half time

They might have to dig a big trench at the back of the West/Ian Greaves Stand

That was about what we had back in the day anyway! A very long, leaking metal trench

Yes Rob. We might have to bring back the long half of metal pipe balanced on two or three breeze blocks with the top end raised slightly so it drains down the slope at the back of the North Stand or Quarry Lane. It will be like the good old days.

I can still smell the urinals on the terraces on the North Stand.

I think i speak for most when saying i’d have an outdoor pint sodding anywhere!

I suppose this has given everything a new meaning now and hopefully we’ll appreciate things more!

Maybe the club could put on some form of exhibition match or something in may, i’m sure it’d be a roaring success!

Also imagine next season that pre-season friendlies will he universally popular also

Roll on pre season (by which time capacity won’t be restricted hopefully). Couple of sell outs at home and a few National League aways with big away ends will do

I find this very hard to believe. Bearing in mind how tight the restrictions will still be at that point I can't see the pilots being allowed more than a month in advance of the actual rule coming in. Where have you seen this ?

Also, being the pessimist again, don't forget all the dates for each phase are 'at the earliest' based on statistical targets being met. If one phase gets pushed back then so will all the following ones. I wouldn't start making plans based on the currently announced dates just yet.

If were in charge I'd for go any crowds before next pre season. Too much hassle, too many stewards needed all for the sake of one game maybe two. Let's start afresh, freer by a long chalk than it would be in May, back probably in your own seat of last season and not socially distanced. Let's rid ourselves of this awful pandemuic for good this time. Let's get as many folk jabbed as we can through the Summer therefore transmission risks are going to be vastly reduced by late July.

Two pay days when half the crowd have already paid as ST holders anyway would make little differnce financially this year.
We can then look forward to 6-7000 folk buying ST's for next season to show their support eh !

Will you go to Field Mill, Broomo and Bear sometime or regularly? I am sure some (except TorryStag, BobbyStag, Norman and Parkinson's Perm) would Iove to meet you both!
