Cos I think Yorkie thinks Jim's not got what it takes.

he can't be recalled now. He could only have been recalled during the January transfer window

Ah OK. Does that mean that if their season is called off he wouldn't be allowed to return to our squad?

I don't know what the precedent for that is. I would guess in that scenario he could return and play for us.

Big question is would he want to come back?
Lets be honest despite our current league differences county are a much bigger club than us (reputation, stadium wise etc) what would tempt you to stay at the stags if county offered you a permenant deal?
Possibly only the clough factor.

Is that a joke? He's a Mansfield lad. What greater honour than being a hero for you home-town club?

And if his career is the motivational factor, plying his trade in League 2 is way better than in the Conference. Under a manager that is known for getting the best out of players, he could put himself in the shop window by scoring hatfulls in League 2. There's absolutely no guarantee that County are coming back up any time soon.

If money is the issue and both clubs want him, we can outbid Notts too.

It seems what Clough wants in a striker is more than what Cook and Maynard offer, I really hope Jimmy has the right style of play to become a striker in a Clough team.
Great to hear him say he is working on his hold up play, I really want him to be our number 1, if not I would wish him well at most clubs.

Yes, I think he likes strikers who can hold it up, chase down and be versatile across a front three rather than be out and out goalscorers. I think Burton, in their promotion season from League 2 had 3 forwards who scored 12 each. Strikers who just wait around up front like Maynard and Cook won't play under Clough. I think Jimmy has more to his style though.

How do you know he gives a crap about being a 'mansfield lad' your just assuming that he is in love with his hometown... Lets be honest youngsters nowadays couldnt care less about were they are from.
He would be just as much sought after for scoring 25 in the conf as he would lg2 imo.

If you read my post i added that the clough factor could swing it :D

big factor I think. Bigger factor for him might be whether he thinks he's got more chance of starting at Notts County though.

Talking of conference goal scoring. Did you see that Kristian “Mr. Relegation” Dennis scored against the green Sheite for St Mirren the other day. They must be bad

Well that’s the risk they take. Probably try and get it abandoned then.
