Think Burton are poised to sign a player this afternoon. Could be a chain.

And if the National League finishes as expected, it will also mean Jimmy Knowles will be returning so plenty of choices available.

Hopefully the 2 incomings we are hoping for are forwards then in that case, one of which that can play wide ideally. Felt we needed one anyway, and now one to replace Cook.

In the summer I believe, so that will be his time up in a Mansfield shirt. With Cook & Maynard out of contract in the summer and the wages freed up Clough should have plenty of room to manoeuvre in the next window.

Wish Cook well but for whatever reason he wasn't the right fit for the Stags.

Don't think he was ever given a fair crack TBH.
Looked as good/dangerous as anyone when he was on the field.

Decent, he's probably the highest paid player at the club and is never going to start in Clough's side

I think Lucas is on his way as an in. I don't know why but I can feel it in my water.

What a signing he would be.

I also don't know why but I'm still expecting Maynard to go as well and think we'd have enough with Reid, Akins and Bowery to get the goals needed to push us close.

Maybe add a young attacker on loan to spice things up from the bench.

Mixed feelings on this. I really like Cook and in my opinion he’s our best striker. He has been through three different managers now though and none of them gave him a regular start, so clearly there is some thing stopping him.

Good luck Cooky - scored some crackers for us.

I’m looking forward to seeing who comes in now. If it’s Akins then I’d be chuffed!

Best of luck in the future Cooky. Didn't quite work here they way we wanted it to but you always put a shift in whenever you got on the pitch.

Not a chance with him coming post cap.

We signed Cook for a fee after a decent season in L1, he will probably be our biggest earner now.

He signed post cap but the offer had been on the table pre cap, if that counts for anything
