Think he was watching a slightly different game to me. We gave our best but the best team won.
We were pretty overrun in the midfield and that put pressure on the defence and gave nothing to the forwards.

I know it’s a game of ifs and buts, but if Charsley hadn’t step on the ball and slipped, we would have had a good chance of holding on for the win.

If we had done, this forum would be a very different experience tonight.

Spot on assessment. We have zero strength in depth beyond the regular first teamers, and we gave it our all. Look forward to some new faces coming in.

By the same token if Charsley wasn't stood on the line to clear a goal bound shot we'd have conceded. It's easy to pick fault goals he helped concede and forget about the goals he prevented.

Nigel defends the players well and is a master at coming over honestly and positively even though he knows probably they were the better team
Feel sorry for him as he is doing all he can and the 5 th round would have been a nice bonus for him
Keep going Nigel !!

There'd be nothing to gain from him coming out and saying how he really felt that game went yesterday. We've had a great patch of league form and we need to focus on that momentum. Doom and gloom about losing in the 3rd round of the cup just wouldn't be of benefit to anyone so he was quite right to give that sort of interview in my opinion.

We, and Nigel, know that we're constrained in terms of squad quality outside his first 11, so no point in too much of an inquest into yesterday. We move on, start Wednesday, and continue the excellent form in the league. He'll be addressing the additions we need over the next week or so.

I thought he hit the nail on the head when he said they gave it their all, we were still in it till the final whistle, and on the day the best team won.
Our players have had a long hard slog this week shows character,
