I "acquired" a couple of tickets from a Leicester fan at work. At the station Rugby fans were allowed straight through while football fans were searched. A great day out regardless of the result.

The Wagstaff footage illustrates the conditions that football was often played in quite nicely. The pitch looks worse than our game on Saturday and was probably like that prior to kick off. Add the fact that the ball was no doubt soaking and heavy as well and you can easily see why it kept rolling compared to the modern equivalent.

They were proper leg sapping conditions.
