A great day out, a great time in the pub before the match and we won 1-0 with a Briscoe goal

To say we are classed as a similar sized team as Halifax we don't seem to play them very often. I've only been there twice and not seem the Stags score yet.
0-0 in the FA Cup in Dec 1994 on what seemed like the coldest day ever in England (ice ages included),stood in the large open ended terrace and Sep 2001 ,lost 1-0, when we were flying in the league with our new young superstars under Dearden stood in their newish away end.
First match : 04.01.1975 home v Cambridge Utd F.A.Cup 3rd Round 1-0 Clarke

A big difference between Mansfield and Halifax right now, not similar sized at all.

As much as normally I would like this game to be dull nil nil draw so both Notts County Mad and Bobs Board would be lit up like the Samaritan’s switchboard with depressives (puts tin hat), I really would like County to stuff the sheep botherers today.

Even got it as a favourite on live score so I can cheer when a Magpie goal goes in.

The "Battle of the Barstewards" today.

Like you normally I'd be looking for a enegry sapping 0-0 where both teams pick up red cards & a few niggly injuries (nothing career threatening I'm not without a moral compass), but at the moment I think I prefer the raspberry to win.

If the Cheats win, Dungheap might get the job permanantly & I think even 3 points today won't save them from the drop come May.

The Skunks on the other hand could threaten the play offs at seasons end. As funny as last years Wembley tonking was, I rather not run the risk of them fluking a promotion before they've served at least 5 years in the pit of misery.

Maybe hoping that Jimmy Knowles gets some game time and he gets an opportunity to watch him in action.

It's a shame Yeovil are getting battered, Sheep could have gone bottom today.
