It might end up being that a defeat by Darrell Clarke sees GC sacked.

As much as the start to the season is frustrating, I think people's judgment is being clouded by their dislike for GC after he failed to give us a 'new manager bounce' last season. I think he was starting to pull it together when the season was halted. With better finishing at Cheltenham we could have gone into lockdown on the back of 3 straight wins.
This season, with a bit more luck, we could have been in a very different position. The Tranmere game again we could have won with better finishing, and Orient we would have won if not for the mad last 10 minutes. A point wouldn't have been undeserved against Exeter, and a dodgy penalty cost us a point against Newport.
There is no arguing that the Stevenage and Bradford performances were poor, but how much of that was down to confidence ? If we had gone into those 2 home games on 8 points instead of 2 it could have been very different.
Personal opinion, I thought we played well against Morecambe, especially as their start has been better than ours.
With the position that Cheltenham are in compared to us, I would think it would be very harsh to remove GC from his position after today's game.
We have 2 home games over the next week which will take us to 10 league games played. If we don't win at least 1 of those, then I would expect JR to be taking action.

Seriously ? 10 minutes ? I'm gonna have to take out a restraining order.
You either :
(a) are on here all day every day, which is quite sad, or
(b) have an alarm set up that tells you whenever I have posted (is that an option ?), which is even sadder.

Just because we disagreed over something doesn't mean you have to immediately disagree with everything I post, but if you feel you must, at least put some effort in and offer an alternative opinion. ;)

It's not rocket science Dave, we are simply not gone good enough in all areas.

Can't defend as we have 3 non footballing sloths at the back.
No width as the formation is narrow so we are totally over run in midfield. (First time we play with width we score a good team goal)
Nothing for the forwards to feed on as we are over run, the odd chance falls to a man who has no footballing ability whatsoever and should be nowhere near our club never mind starting.

Stags points totals

Played..18/19..19/20..20/21
...1.........3........1.........1
...2.........4........2.........2
...3.........5........5.........2
...4.........6........5.........2
...5.........7........6.........3
...6........10.......6.........3
...7........10.......9.........4
...8........11.......9.........5

PPG......1.4.....1.1.......0.6

Tranmere H 0-0 Stags dominant and just needed to score
Orient A 2-2 winning 2-0 with 8 minutes left
Exeter H 1-2 went 1-0 up but Exeter better team
Newport A 1-2 winning with 12 minutes left, lost with dodgy penalty!
Stevenage h 0-0 poor, got to win home games
Bradford H 1-3 poor performance
Morecambe A 1-1 OK point if you win home games
Cheltenham A 0-0 OK point if you win home games

Stags should really have 5 more points and be 4 points off the play-offs.

Graham Coughlan still has my 100% support as you don't have to win many more games than you lose to make the play-offs and I believe this team is capable of better results.

The next 3 games are crucial though, I think Graham needs 2 wins otherwise he'll probable be gone.

Barrow will be his best chance of a win. Walsall are currently on the longest unbeaten run in English football (13 games)

They've only beat Orient & Grimsby at home though, all the rest draws.

Not many of those seasons are not relegation seasons

Can you put a big R next to the relegation seasons.

and include the number of points if this is a "points table comparison" (probably best to use 3 points for a win)

1983-84 was Ian Greaves 1st season iirc. Good job we stuck with him. I'm sure he said something along the lines of taking 3 years to sort this out

So 34 games left in the season.

Just over 70 pts scraps you into the play offs.

So just another say 21 wins will do it.

21 out of 34 easy.

Not only looking up the table, but looking as though we belong in it. We have been excellent in the games since GC has left, with pretty much the same team. Biggest surprise....
Jordan Bowerey, from zero to hero in 5 games. Long may it last. Keep on it you mighty stags.
