Bradford Scorethread sponsored by Lord Flashheart

Postby I am Spartacus » Wed Oct 14, 2020 7:24 pm

Wednesday evening and the scorethread is not up yet? No takers so far, no one willing to put their stamp on this game and lead us onto a winning run? Is it apathy due to Covid, the new normal or our league position and our playing style?

What we need, before the transfer deadline slams shut is a player that will throw caution to wind, win the fans over, drags us over the line and laugh in the face of danger. The only man I can think of is the hero of Blackadder, Lord Flashheart. A man who once when asked about not wearing underpants he said, ‘ Because the pants haven't been built yet that'll take the job on.” What we don’t want is another weekend of Baldrick’s cunning football plan of 3-5-2 and long balls.

So in here please for your predictions, wild stabs in the dark, not so drunken ramblings as Boris has shut the pubs early.

And you never know, we may sign a Lord Flashheart this week and make Saturday a damn sight more enjoyable.

Anyway COYS.

Unfortunately our defence will be buried in a Y shaped coffin and are wide open to penetration.

Bradford will know that respect is not yet deserved and will come at us from the off unlike the previous visitors this year. Alas we will fall 0-2 and as GC has failed to bring Queenie a present, Nursie will sit giggling as Queenie shouts ‘Off with his head’.

Mansfield 0 Bradford 2

Bowery & Cook to start upfront the only changes he'll make... Same awful 3-5-2 thou.
Zero wing play or crosses.
Super flapper stech makes at least one disastrous error.
Graham 'talks agood game' coughlan says we were unlucky & need 16 new players in before next game.

Bradford at 5/2 is very good odds!

The fixtures are very strange this year.
This will be our 4th home league game out of 6 (unprecedented without cancellations or rescheduling)
We will also have played 6 out of 10. If crowds are let back in after 10 games we will have lost significant home advantage as behind closed doors games seem to be nearer 50:50 rather than 65:35 based on recent results.
First match : 04.01.1975 home v Cambridge Utd F.A.Cup 3rd Round 1-0 Clarke

Get a room lads, I know you don't agree on stuff but it's boring you two having a pop at each other on multiple threads.

Anyway, 2-1 to the stags Cook and Maynard with the goals

All in all I do Know a lot of people in football, mainly media folk but contacts wise I know one lad at stags and one agent who hears a few things.

They've both said its 3-2 stags

Harrogate pressed Bradford midweek and created numerous chances , we won’t trouble them playing hoof ball so I’m going Bradford 2-0 (Donaldson 2 , 72)

We didn't actually look that bad when they did start... shame bowery fluffed some easy looking chances early on.

Cook and Maynard for me!

By far our best two strikers. Both score goals. Will compliment each others styles and will suit a slightly more direct play with Cook a target man for Maynard to play off. Have they actually played together at all this season.
