It’s also a fair response that we don’t want to leave it too long like with Dempster, who should have been sacked after Cambridge battered us 4-0.

Well they are doing.

Plenty of better choices about at the minute.

Who ?

Clough
Keith Hill
Tisdale
Cook
Cowleys
Alexander
Flitcroft
Hurst

Not saying whether they would come, be good, or whatever, just they are out there.

Also you can never rule out a manager in another job already. Granted it’s unlikely given current circumstances though

Flitcroft is NOT a better choice ATM - as he has blown it TWICE as the only Stags manager in recent history. Results wise, we reached our best EFL position for years and should have been promoted at the end of the 2018-19 season. Not only Flitcroft blew it then, so did the EFL and the FA. As DF did blew it twice, he is IMO worse than either Dempster and Coughlan. DF blew a very good chance for the Stags to play against the likes of Ipswich and Sunderland. He also blew the best chance for the Stags to stay up in last season's League One which was the easiest one for decades to stay up in, and a very good chance to establish ourselves in League One.

JD was undone by injuries and silly decisions by some officials - as was DF's side in the playoff semifinal at Newport. The officials there were the worst ones I've ever seen in any Stags game I've been able watch over the years (BTW, I watched that particular game over here). And so far this season, GC was undone by the officials as well. Incredibly enough, the Stags have been undone by the officials in at least our three latest games at Newport. One thing is poor decisions by the officials, another thing is playing poorly, i.e. against Exeter recently.

How the EFL and FA blew it? The Bury affair.

Said since the start he should be given time.

However, the results and the football on offer to date have both been dreadful.

Time to start performing

This, We need to give him time but he needs to buy himself that time with a side that performs well and gets results....

3rd from bottom and potentially rock bottom after Saturday, Fail to beat Bradford and its looking incredibly bleak. Not enough leaders in the whole squad who will put up a fight imo

You can discount last season because it wasn't his side, it was a real mess

He had decent players and should have got better out of them than finishing 21st even though they were not his signings.

That apart, it's a rubbish season so I'd give the guy a chance until after Christmas providing we are not in relegation. A new manager may get us up the league but will have the same excuses not his players and the standard second excuse the players are not fit.

I'd be happy with a top ten finish with or without GC

Sorry Sunray but we will be nowhere near top 10. If we stick with GC I would take our current position 22nd but don’t think we would achieve it. From what I’ve seen so far and his assertion he will stick with his blueprint I cannot see anything except a sub 35 point finish. On current form we will finish on 27 points and don’t deserve more than the three we currently have.
