... after an unbeaten start to the season, 5 games in. Surely not a decision based on results?

So by the time we get rid of GC the Cowleys will already have a job? Lovely that!

Jr, CR and Sharpe should be speeding up to the north west now and doing everything in their power to recruit him.

He is has a track record of success across numerous clubs and will have a big point to prove too.

It might seem ruthless and will cost to sack GC, bit o really do think this is a case of he who dares wins

Salford have spent massive money so with the likes of Ashley Hunter, Ian Henderson and Darron Gibson they expect promotion this season. They have the likes of Bruno Andrade, Tom Elliott, Tom Clarke and Brandon Thomas Asante on the bench. Salford are undefeated this season. They drew 2-2 with Exeter City before hammering Grimsby 4-0 away with a Ian Henderson hat-trick. They then were held at home 0-0 by a decent Forest Green Rovers side before beating Stevenage 1-0 away last week. I've been impressed with their keeper Vaclav Hladky in the home game against Exeter City and the away game at Grimsby so he's had to make a few saves.

Salford were 2-0 up and cruising on Saturday. James Wilson was playing well up front. Graham Alexander made 3 subs in the 69th, 73rd and 79th minute. Richie Towell and Darren Gibson were injured. They then conceded two late goals from a Kieron Morris rocket shot from outside the area in the 86th minute and Jordan Turnbull then failed to deal with a long ball into the area and then got into a tangle with Ashley Eastham before the ball fell nicely to Paul Lewis to fire in the equaliser. Tranmere were missing seven players due to positive coronavirus tests and other players were isolating. The players missing included James Vaughan, Ollie Banks, Liam Ridehalgh, Stefan Payne, Scott Davies, Calum MacDonald and Lee O'Connor were all missing. Perhaps that was why the Nevilles were annoyed about not winning.

10th October
"Tranmere Rovers Football Club can tonight confirm two first team players have tested positive for Covid-19. The two players were not involved in today’s game at Salford City, and are now self-isolating. The players’ identities will remain anonymous, but the Club can confirm they are both in good health. As a consequence of the two positive cases, a number of first team players have also gone into self-isolation due to their close contact with the two players. Furthermore, another player has had to self isolate due to an unconnected track and trace notification. The identities of all of the players involved will remain anonymous."

Paul Scholes is taking over as caretaker manager. "It is understood Salford's head of youth development, Warren Joyce, would have taken over but he is currently isolating." Warren Joyce was appointed as Wigan Athletic manager by David Sharpe in October 2016 on a 3.5 year contract and he sacked him in March 2017.

I think Tippy Tappy Football was presuming you meant Danny Cowley

It's insane they've sacked him, but they have spent an absolute fortune on their squad and probably want more for their money this season? I'm not sure. Maybe they've already got someone lined up (DC?)

At this moment in time we have no idea whether his sacking was performance related or for some other misdemeanour that has yet to be announced..

What was Roy Keane doing there? Is he a director or coach or Salford? Is he a physio or has a back room role?

No he was watching his mates team play football like he has often done this season. How can he be allowed in and not the ordinary fan?

Next thing you know, Dave Beckham will be allowing Rebecca Loos in as his guest, though she will definitely have to wear gloves?.

Perhaps it was the three draws in front of the home fans that finally did for Graham Alexander. :)

Or Paul Cook, either would be great appointments for a league 2 side.
