Lillywhite's scorethread sponsored by Caribou Cola.

Get em in here folks.

I'm going for a dreary 0-1 win played on a billiard table of a pitch, in unseasonably chilly weather.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

I fancy the Stags for a 0-0 or 1-1 draw and take it to penalties

Here are the teams that Preston played in their first two friendlies, a 3-1 away win at Salford (Sinclair, Bodin and Harrop) and a 1-1 draw at Tranmere (Barkhuizen). They played one team for 60 minutes and then brought on the other eleven. Rotated it for the second friendly game.

Preston North End
Connor Ripley
Alan Browne, Patrick Bauer, Jordan Storey, Andrew Hughes
Ryan Ledson, Tom Bayliss
Billy Bodin, Daniel Johnson, Scott Sinclair
Sean Maguire

Matthew Hudson,
Joe Rafferty, Paul Huntington, Ben Davies, Josh Earl
Ben Pearson, Paul Gallagher
Tom Barkhuizen, Brad Potts, Josh Harrop
Jayden Stockley,

Same for both teams. It's a good competitive game to get us ready for Tranmere Rovers. Looking forward to watching the game.

Dont mind a loss, just hope they dont put 4/5 past us and it knocks our confidence going into League games.

:D Top man is back.

Like to see a stubborn Stags performance frustrating Preston and keeping it at 1-1.

Rose to score in the 88th minute . :D

Preston, away, in the cup what is not to like? Ordinarily I would be there, the promise of cup football, even a decent run in the cup makes the pulse quicken but this year it cannot.

Thanks to the need to condense the fixtures we will, footballing gods smiling upon us, have played and won in four rounds of this cup before we are allowed in. Yes, that’s right we will be in the fifth round before we see a ball kicked. Something totally unheard of, especially as the furthest I have ever seen us get to is the third round against Milwalll.

You may think that the last sentence is pure speculation but in a season where normality is going to be far from normal until well after Christmas one of our greatest cup runs could well be witnessed, in the flesh, by the I-follow production team only. Which kind of lessens the magic of the cup.

Still, in the chaotic, turbulent and ever changing times I am going for a result based upon a version of normality. Two nil to the Stags. It won’t be pretty, it won’t be the finished article but we will be in the next round.

Goals by Benning and Rose (just to ensure he is cup tied so that when we beat Chinese Gillingham in round three it annoys Evans).

Steve Wilkinson is THE most underrated Stags player of all time. A lot of people forget about him or don’t realise what he actually did. I’ll never forget when he scored all 5 goals against Birmingham City he was unstoppable.

Has Bowery picked up a knock?

Add him and Maynard into that squad and I think we look very strong for the coming season.

The bench could be stronger although I'm hoping Tyrese Sinclair will get a chance to shine. Will look better with Jordan Bowery, Ollie Clarke, Nicky Maynard etc.

Has Kellan Gordon been relegated to 3rd choice right wing back?
