Gaffer said he'd be back soon. That IS putting the rumour to bed.

Like someone else said, they told us Joe Riley is out with a bad injury so I don't see why they wouldn't tell us if Clarke's was that bad

I personally think its somewhere in the middle of being as devastating as first thought (these things always appear bad), to be slightly under egged by CG

not really, They're hardly going to rush him back and force him to play when he doesn't need to.

They told us the extent of Joe Riley's bad injury , but I don't see why they would hide it if Clarke did his ACL. They probably don't want to risk him getting injured in a nothing game just yet after having a knock.

It's a long old season. No point rushing back Ollie Clarke if he has a knock.

There was also an update on midfielder Ollie Clarke, who the boss says is expected to be available for selection in time for Mansfield’s Sky Bet League Two opener against Tranmere Rovers.

“Ollie [Clarke] has been annoying me to play [him] – he’s wanting to play, but I’m not going to risk anybody.

“I’m certainly not going to put anyone on the pitch if there’s any risk. He’s training, he’s on the grass, but isn’t quite up to full speed – that will come this week.

“Ollie Clarke – I want him ready for September 12 [first game of league season] – I didn’t want to risk him today and I probably won’t risk him next week.”

You do stamp your feet on here though expecting to be in the know what's happening with players. He obviously just isn't being risked yet

GC is known for keeping his cards close to his chest. He went mental at Bristol Rovers when someone leaked that Jonson Clarke Harris was fit when GC was still making out he was still injured. He blamed one of the directors.

Well, we know he’s been training (unless the club are not telling the truth) and we know that’s he’s unlikely to be risked until the 12th Sept.
