no, I don't think so. I can't imagine they would be pushing ahead with these play-offs in the three National leagues if they were going to count for nothing. It's inconceivable in my opinion.

Yeah, but they still use fax machines. :)

They would still need playoffs in national north and south anyway.

With the declaration that all non leagues have to start together and in front of crowds that is in opposition to the EFL statement they will not relegate a club without a league to play in. It looks as though non league will not be back in September so that would leave the relegated club without an income stream until at least October.

Still can’t work out how we can get ready to start a new season but can’t have been playing now to finish off the old season

I'm well aware of that. I was asking why they couldn't have finished leagues one and two before any playoffs in June and July (like the championship) but they can play the new season in September. What's changed?

Testing is more available and I'd guess cheaper than when the decision was made. Plus I think the hope is from October some income can be generated from crowds being able to attend in some form.

More time has been available to put together a viable funding proposal to support smaller clubs. Guidelines and restrictions are dropping in many sectors and we are no longer in lockdown.

I mean it's fairly obvious what's changed since the decision was made to curtail leagues 1 and 2 in the peak of the pandemic compared to now?

With the number of cases in Mansfield over last week do not get your hopes up.

Where do you get that from? The latest figures show 33 new cases in Notts between July 14th and 20th. Not a cause for alarm. And even if they rise to the level of Leicester (9 cases in a day), there might be a local lockdown but not necessarily preventing a match taking place under controlled conditions.

We have had 13 cases in little over a week.

Shame because we were near bottom for cases

I’d heard 6 cases so don’t know. But it was always gonna happen unfortunately, it’s when we start to rise to Leicester and Blackburn levels that’s when it’ll be a cause for concern

An increase in case numbers 2-3 weeks after the pubs opened and 5 local pubs had to close early on the first night due to people ignoring social distancing rules.
Who would have thought it ? :?

Correct

Doesnt change the fact that 5 local pubs are reported as having issues with complying with the regulations on their first night of opening.
It may or may not have any relevance to a sudden increase in cases in the area but the timescales are in the right ball park so it could easily be a factor.
The virus is still out there and still dangerous - everybody needs to be careful.
I wouldnt be gettin your hopes up about watching live football in October just yet.
