I doubt we will see him hit the heights of a few seasons ago at field mill again, he needs a fresh start. Good business for all involved really

Will imagine it will be undisclosed

It’s closer to 200k, it would seem.

Let’s not forget under Flitcroft the great football, which it was - completely eroded after Christmas, and we become just another L2 lump it up side. I think GC style might be closer to Steve Evans style, very attacking, good football in the final third but getting it to that point quickly. That was a entertaining season too before he left to be fair!

It will be disappointing to get rid for £200k, I wonder if he’s not interested in a new contract? I do think he will fit in and do quite well at Blackpool.

Strange how people can have such varied opinions. Paul Cox style was the least enjoyable in over 50 years of watching the stags .
Watched some very poor players play for the Stags and it would be hard to say who were the worst 5 ever . Witnessed a lot more bad managers than good and again it would be hard to say who was the poorest . Watched god knows how many styles of football and I could probably narrow the best down to a couple of managers . But when it comes down to which manager played the least entertaining football then Paul Cox is an outright winner.

I know he was successful and achieved his goal . But it was far from entertaining. You should never walk away from an away game after a win and be discussing just how awful it had been to watch.

The majority of Paul Cox tenure was pretty poor football, but for the specific time I was talking about it was pretty exciting with plenty of goals. Hopefully we can put 7/8 past Barrow next season!
We won't be putting eight past Barrow next season.

Omg, really?

Barrow might put eight past us if we sell CJ though.

I’m just not sure about CJ. He’s a lovely lad to talk to and his heart is the right place. However, on the pitch, he has the ability to delight and excite but this has been rarer than the occasions that he simply frustrates.

I’d be happy for him to stay, and I’d be happy for him if he left.

You couldn't make it up on here. Stags fans moaning about a manager who won us a championship title, scoring 6, 7 & 8 goals in games and having a game being voted as the best ever (Hereford away) yet idolise a manager who played decent football for 5 months and failed TWICE with the most expensive squad we've ever had! Only on stagsnet.

The 200k came from a journalist too, Alan Nixon. Probably somewhere in the middle.

Im one that did think DF was a decent manager... (he didn't fail twice we've been over than god knows how many times) he did get us playing...

But to say coxs football was boring is rubbish.... We struggled in the football league because the players weren't near good enough and had to lump it long but we finished 11th didn't we?? He should have been backed to build again.

In the conference we played some alright stuff! Watch back a lot of greens goals in the conference, they were good bits of attacking play, getting it out wide and passing it through the defence and not just the hoof it style cox got labeled with.

Go for that deal
As said he has potential but had plenty of chances here and never really got to top peak
Sad to see him go but maybe he too feels ready for a change

Hope it didn’t involve running down the left wing and crossing to the centre forward in the box ..

Well Mansfield never have any forwards in the box. At least Blackpool might have someone in there ;)

I'm am really depressed by this news but wish the lad well for the future. He will always get a warm welcome back from me.

I'll wait to see his replacement but this has given my confidence in both promotion and style of play quite a knock. CJ never stopped running and was the one player who I thought had the stamina to play the pressing game all day long and still come back for more. I just hope we are more than a hard hitting, set piece specialist team next season.
