How can there be a fixture list when you don't know when the season will start.

If National League do not restart, we don't know who will be in League 2

We’d get Newport away even if we were in different divisions

Nailed on Newport first game and Crawley last game.
Three of the last four opening games v Newport and three of the last closing games v Crawley
The last four seasons first and last games played (8 in total) are all Newport and Crawley with the exception of a Crewe game at the start of 17/18.

Season............(FIRST GAME)...(LAST GAME)
2016-17..........Newport...........Crawley
2017-18..........Crewe..............Crawley
2018-19..........Newport...........Newport (play off game, last scheduled MK Dons)
2019-20..........Newport...........Crawley (scheduled but post-poned)

That is eight games with only 3 different teams (the average will be around 7+ teams faced)

Always better to play Newport away in the autumn rather than the depths of winter on a ploughed rugby field

True. Once the Dragons have been on there a few times, it’s a poor surface.

Excellent overnight stop at tranmere in an apartment above the Italian restaurant across the road from the away end. Shortest walk ever to the match

Rather hoping that Bolton is a Saturday as we are planning a trip to ‘The Phoenix Club’. Can’t wait for Ray Vonn’s Saturday lunch time tunes and that legendary bouncy castle.

The whole fixture list could turn into a farce before a ball is kicked, look at what is outstanding:
Championship - Wigan could still appeal, Derby and Wednesday could be relegated if found guilty at their hearings. If points deductions are held over into next season for Derby or Wednesday and Wigan successfully appeal then Barnsley have already said they will sue.
League 1 - See above for who could come down.
League 2 - Southend could go bust, Macclesfield could get relegated or go bust in the mean time.

Strangely enough, none of the above is COVID-19’s fault.........you all know who I blame.

Normally it is about two weeks after last play off game.

Fixtures 2020/2021

Postby NorthLondonStag » Tue Aug 04, 2020 5:01 pm

As the games are finished tonight does anyone know when these might be published?

Which game(s) are people looking forward to most (assuming we can go)? - I'd go for Bolton or Harrogate away.

Whenever the various appeals are concluded I assume.

I was thinking about that but that could go on for ages couldn't it? Won't they just assume that the teams currently in the relegation spots are going down and then swap them out if it changes? I don't know if they try and make local derbies thought at Christmas like they seemed to use to though or if there are issues like two clubs close by playing at home.
