Neal Bishop Chad interview

Seems as if there was a lack of authority last summer and the whole fitness and poor pre season explains why we've had such a crap year.

From the videos on ifollow we saw last summer,it didn't look like a poor pre season but they obviously don't tell the full picture.

Makes you wonder how the next pre season will fair. With the current situation it will probably be below par. Will be the same for all the clubs.

I think a lot of supporters realised early on that something wasn't right coming out of pre season.

Neil Bishop did well for us, especially at the beginning. I hope he does well in his next venture.

Nothing that hadn't come out previously but to hear it right from the inside is very damning of Dempster

Agree Woody, we all knew what was happening with discipline and fitness levels nowhere near where they needed to be. It’s just good to hear it actually come out in a constructive way at the right time.

Is this a new interview or has it been taken from Adrian Kita's interview?

A bit bland. What about his bust up with the fans?

I suppose in hindsight am the issue with the fans wasn’t the best. There was little connection between the players and the fans last season - probably the furthest apart I’ve seen really.

It was such a surprise that some players took so badly to it, quick to take the chants and applause when things were going well but quick to moan when they didn’t produce and the fans rightly gave them a bit of stick.

I hope he gets to play on for another season though as despite the above he comes across as a decent lad and obviously his mrs deserved the plaudits for the work she does

Dempster has got to be the worst appointment we've ever made.

A very good interview highlighting what many already thought was happening.

The bust up with the fans was blown up to be far worse than what it was by some emotional fans who couldn't handle getting back what they had given out.

Bishop was a good player for us and someone I would have liked to be part of our backroom set up but think he will end uo back at County as a player/coach.

There's a lot of competition for that accolade!!! Potentially he could have been a better manager than Holdsworth ever was. But absolutely appointed way to soon in his own career.

It all depends what you class as worst.

For me 2 managers who didn’t achieve promotion would be high up there - curle not getting promotion with the side that lost in the playoffs - that side should have won the league.

And obviously flitcroft achieving the impossible in 2 successive seasons.

It was managers like shirtliff, Parkin etc that worked with nothing under “him” that really had my admiration.

There’s a few bits to pick up on, the manager will be bringing in a lot of new players, and is under pressure to use the youth players.

The problem with that, is that it takes years to build up an academy to a standard that produces players that will leave for decent money, that’s if they don’t get picked up for peanuts by higher division clubs before they even hit the first team. Also, you can’t expect a manager to use the youth team if they’re not up to standard for the first team, and to be honest the ones that have played currently aren’t good enough to get in the squad.

Agreed. A few saw it and said it, many saw it and chose to ignore it til Christmas.

Everything about that appointment was wrong.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

The lack of discipline on the field should have been enough to know something was severely wrong

Hopefully it doesn't take the players a time to gel. I'm sure promotion will be the expectation again next season, or at least the play offs.

The number of times bishop was man of the match says a lot about his character. I was in Portugal and the training looked pretty intense to me and for his age I thought bish stood out in fitness levels . However you only see the small picture overall as to how the team was progressing and as it turned out we were behind what was required.

Ready for the salary cap?

Vote going to take place for 20 man squads with 8 youth team players on top of that. According to BBC sport

I guess there will be a decent proportion of our fan base will want GC sacked if promotion isn't achieved next season. If they stay true to their standards. Sad really.

I can’t imagine so.

I guess it all depends on the situation also.

Most fans wanted Dempster sacked by November. Where those fans wrong?
