Jack Thomas has been released by Basford United. Probably for financial reasons.

Nathan Watson has also been released as well. I think he's a local lad as well. They paid a record transfer fee for him from Coalville.

Matt Green is still under contract at Grimsby Town. His agent did a good job. Luke Waterfall is also still under contract so we can look forward to him getting sent off again at Field Mill next season  .

Grimsby Town (13 players under contract and 9 released)
Under Contract: James McKeown, Sam Russell, Ollie Battersby, Ludvig Öhman, Luke Waterfall, Mattie Pollock, Luke Hendrie, Elliott Hewitt, Harry Clifton, Jock Curran, James Tilley, James Hanson, Matt Green.
Released: Bradley Garmston, Harry Davis, Brandon Buckley, Elliott Whitehouse, Elliot Grandin, Jake Hessenthaler, Harry Cardwell, Ahkeem Rose & Jordan Cook.

The club hold options with a number of First Team players within the squad, with discussions continuing to take place.

Michael Bostwick is an excellent player but I would be worried about him staying injury free.

Lincoln City
Under Contract: Jordan Adebayo-Smith, Harry Anderson, Cian Bolger, Alex Bradley, Ben Coker, Tayo Edun, Zack Elbouzedi, Jorge Grant, Tom Hopper, Aaron Lewis, Max Melbourne, Jack Payne, Anthony Scully
Released: Charlie Andrew, Michael Bostwick, Neal Eardley, Lee Frecklington, Akeem Hinds, Jamie McCombe, Tom Pett,
Jason Shackell, Alan Sheehan, Grant Smith, Josh Vickers
In discussions: Ellis Chapman

Michael Bostwick (32) and Jason Shackell (36) are excellent centre halfs. Neal Eardley (31) has done a great job at right back for Lincoln but is not really a wing back.

Josh Vickers is worth looking at as a keeper.

Tom Pett was a decent attacking midfield player for Stevenage - 120(21) apps and 20 goals

Lee Frecklington is 34 and has only made 39(4) appearances for Lincoln in 2 and a half seasons. He would be a massive gamble. Lincoln fans are also not bothered that he is leaving.

Lincoln fans are surprised about Michael Bostwick and Neal Eardley being released and they receive a lot of praise.

"Amazed by Bostwick being released. And Erds for that matter"

"Shame about Bozzy and Eards!! Not too surprised with the rest."

"No Eardley or Bostwick? Those are enormous boots to fill A great shame."

"The only one I’m surprised to see go is Bostwick. Absolutely the type of player you’d want on a pitch. Accept he was probably a big earner but hoped we’d have a chance at keeping him on a lower wage"

"Michael Bostwick and Neale Eardley are surely in the top 100 imps players since 1970"

"Only bothered about Eardley and Boz on that list."

"A big thank you to a fair few players there. But especially Eardley and Bostwick. They join the legends list in the modern era for me. Great players and consummate professionals."

"Disappointing to see Bozzie and Eardley let go, 2 all-time Imps legends. Vickers, Pett, Freck, Shackell have all done their bit too."

"Absolutely gutted about Bostwick. Can’t help but think we’d keep him in other circumstances."

"Devastated about Bossie, one of my favourite players I've ever seen play for us."

"The likes of Bossie and Eards have been fantastic and have made an outstanding contribution to the club’s success"

Frecklington no thanks - maybe a couple of seasons ago when i think Evans tried to sign him last minute before he joined Lincoln but not now.

Would fit into the bracket of looking for one last pay day.

Frecklington would not hurt on a year deal.

It would if he was injured for most of it  we've finally just got rid of Davies who's been injured for about two seasons and did naff all. Don't need another one

Who’s to say he doesn’t come in and do a decent job even as a back-up.

We all know it’s pot luck in regards to any signing turning out good, decent, below par or downright dreadful so let’s not pretend otherwise. GC thinks he can do a job and that’s all that matters.

I’d like to think we could be a favourite for Bostwick.

Bostwick is the pick of the bunch, would be a great signing for anybody at this level and hope we are asking the question! Real presence on the pitch and capable of playing at the back and in midfield.

No Thanks to Frecklington or any other crocked Imp. Their are plenty of players out there as good and not requiring Zimmer frames to move around the pitch. I’m sick of seeing players milk our club, like Frecklington would do as well.
