Absolutely the right decision, its just not right to put football before people health and wellbeing.

Players out of contract, trying to push through and finish it for the sake of 9/10 games just isn't right when teams won't have squads. finish table on ppg and have playoffs if possible.

Id like them to try and set a date for next season to safely start so cubs can start preparing for next season. Over the coming weeks it would be good for coughlan to be able to plan for next season.

Move on from this one, players and supporters health comes first.

Anyone else think this might make it easier to get preferred transfer targets? Players surely won't hang around waiting for other clubs after this. Fingers crossed we will be one of the most stable clubs at this level. Thanks to our brilliant owners.

League Two clubs vote to end season

League Two clubs vote to end season, but League One teams fail to decide

League Two's season has been brought to an early conclusion following discussions between clubs and the English Football League.

The table is set to be decided using a points-per-game method, but promotion and relegation are not finalised.

There are still plans for the play-offs to take place as usual, with two-legged semi-finals and then a final.

Meanwhile, teams in League One will have to meet again on Monday after failing to come to an agreement.

On Thursday, six third-tier clubs had said they were determined to complete their remaining fixtures.

With League One and the National League, both of which feed clubs into League Two, yet to decide how their final tables will look, it means clubs at the top and bottom of League Two will have to wait for their fate.

Crewe Alexandra were top of the division when the season was halted, with Swindon Town and Plymouth Argyle in the other two automatic promotion places.

Stevenage were bottom and occupied the sole relegation slot.

It is understood League Two clubs want to use a weighted points-per-game system to finalise the table, which takes into account the average points won both home and away.

That method removes any bias for sides who have played more home games than their rivals.

It is understood League Two clubs want to use a weighted points-per-game system to finalise the table, which takes into account the average points won both home and away.
That method removes any bias for sides who have played more home games than their rivals and those numbers are then be applied to each home and away game left on a team's fixture list.

Using this scenario, Swindon Town would overtake Crewe Alexandra to claim the title, with Plymouth Argyle staying in the third and final automatic promotion spot.

The four teams currently in the play-offs - Exeter City, Cheltenham Town, Colchester United and Northampton Town - would remain there, but Cheltenham would move above Exeter and into fourth.

Stevenage would stay bottom.

I wonder who were the 4 clubs wanting Stevenage to be relegated?

Nothing is perfect but this sounds fair and sensible. I wonder what will happen to League One and the National League as regards new teams coming down/up.
I can’t see Tranmere being happy if they are relegated with ‘12 games to go’ and only 3 points from safety, with a game in hand.

It wouldn’t surprise me if two came up from the National league probably Barrow and Harrogate and three came down from league 1 probably Bolton, Southend and tranmere

Presume that just means you’ve got barrow to come up in place of bury to complete the set for next season.

If league 1 vote the same way I.e. No relegation then at most only 1 club will be promoted.

I don’t really but into the idea that there’s promotion from our league but not relegation.

Seems pretty poor form

I can't see any league ratifying relegations but the premiership may expand by 2 teams which would eliminate the necessity for playoffs.

2 up from the championship, 2 up from league one and 3 up from league two.. Only teams in automatic places would be promoted which could cause a few arguments.

If Stevenage don’t go down then County won’t come up.

It will just be Barrow coming up to reform the 92 league clubs

Sensible decision. If only the Prem and championship could put people’s health before money

I am so glad that sense has prevailed. This season, for me, can be summed up the lyrics from the Smiths song, ‘I know it’s over’

‘I know it's over
And it never really began
But in my heart it was so real‘

So long season 19/20, we hoped for so much and we received so little. A fitting end to nothing but heartache and tears.

See you all in 20/21.

Or 21/22

And The Smiths - really?. I admit it's good music to be depressed by though.

Really glad season is over, it’s a relief all round. Also glad County not coming up, they need to languish in obscurity for a bit longer!

I don't agree. If the worry is that stupid fans will turn up to behind closed doors games then it's the stupid fans putting lives at risk. Footballers themselves will be safer than any of us! It was financially unviable for League 1 and 2 to resume, but Prem and Champ clubs can afford to pay for the required safety measures. We have the German example to learn from too, not that I trust the current govt to learn from anything!
