Full parachute payment year 1
Half payment year 2

Year 3 (cheats next season) bugger all

Of course if this year is cancelled, they’ll all be saying that it doesn’t count and they’ll want the same payment next year.

Lawsuits are already on the cards from some clubs in promotion places.

Yeah.

Vauxhall motors have already won the league with 7 games remaining! But haven’t....

Not going to go down well

As far as I am aware the season ends after the last play off match and this date has been set.
If the clubs have not been able to be in a position to participate in these matches due to no further games having been played from now till that date.
Then surely the season could be declared null and void at that point without the fear of legal action.
If so, and I know it still leaves an air of uncertainty, why not just wait till this date has been reached
Might be me being simplistic and no doubt others more informed will pick holes in my theory but it is just a thought.

Wonder what way chesterfield will vote?
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Barrow must be the unluckiest club in England if they can’t come up. Didn’t they get thrown out the league unjustly years ago?

Barrow faced re-election in 1972
They received fewer votes than Hereford, who were duly elected.

Hereford were elected on the back of their cup run. They didn't even win their league that season. You could also argue that Barrow were pretty unfortunate to be relegated as they actually finished 3rd bottom, their geographical location no doubt went against them.

Is this merely paying next years money early (in which case it will have to last longer) or is it an additional sum to compensate for the loss of revenue from games?

Sounds like an early payment from that description which is not really a long term solution.

Where's the long term planning in ending the season now depriving clubs of over 20% of there seasons gate money.

It died when the virus erupted. Things have changed and life is not the same. Denying that simple fact will not help in the future. A lack of promotion/relegation for a handful of teams is the consequence of an unprecedented situation and trying to ensure they take place only disrupts further, never mind the fact that it is unfair and artificial.

Promotions and relegation are "under careful consideration" further updates coming soon.
I can see many weeks if not months of legal battles coming.
I suppose it depends if upper tiers decide to relegate teams or should I say the premiership.

Not necessarily good news for Barrow, there is no decision on how outcomes will be worked out. ie we don't know if the league positions will be scrapped, or they will use points per game, or what they will do.

You’d think with Bury gone and a few other clubs struggling that there will be at least one place available even without relegation, but based on that statement alone there are still way too many unknowns at the moment.

That’s why I was pretty sure barrow would go up. They’d go up using either formula and with bury gone even if promotion/relegation was scrapped they’d still need a space to fill

On PPG Barrow win the league by 5 points. 11 points ahead of County who will claim the deserve to go up because they are Notts County.
Facts do not cease to exist because they are ignored.

Unfortunately though that place is currently in league 1. If the EFL decide not to promote/relegate teams, promoting Barrow would mean 25 teams in league 2 next season and 23 in league 1 with adjustments in following seasons. I just can't see that happening so it may not be as simple as promoting one team.
