Watching him this afternoon on TV, was he our best loan player. I prefer Carter from Bolton, what do you think

Plus so many Stags players being mentioned in the sheep semi final, Holland, Curtis, Randall. Didnt know Dyche played for them. Any football at the moment is better than none

Mckenzie was best in my opinion. Nearly got us promotion and watching that semi final game he was Evertons stand out player.

I went to the Mckenzie match when Forest did Man City in FA Cup 4th rnd 4 1 (1974),he was unplayable.Yesterday I saw Willie Donachie in the Oldham dugout in the cup semi final v Utd in 1990 ish,I bet it took him from 1974 to get the knots out of his legs after Mckenzie had finished with him.

Is my memory up to standard because i reckon Duncan received the ball from a throw in, flicked it over his marker`s head ran round and volleyed his flick into the top corner - anyone confirm this?

Was in the Leeds Utd squad for the 1975 European Cup Final v Bayern Munich in Paris but did not get on the pitch.

If you judge purely based on their impact alone in a Stags shirt then McKenzie (obviously the better player with a brilliant career) would probably be pipped by O'Neill Donalson's loan spell in 1994/95 which was sensational and a catalyst for our march into the play-offs scoring goals for fun.
First match : 04.01.1975 home v Cambridge Utd F.A.Cup 3rd Round 1-0 Clarke

I have watched several decent players have the odd brilliant game for us over the past 50 plus years . Green and Lawrence for example ,you watched them and thought they could maybe play at a higher level .

Mckenzie remains the one player that i felt was too good to be playing for us .

Mackenzie playing for us was a similar situation to Jamie Vardy playing for Fleetwood, they were so much better than everyone else it was embarrassing.

Bradford City - we won 4-1 and he scored a hat-trick. Forest recalled him straight afterwards !!

Rumour had it at the time we could have bought him for £6500 but couldnt afford it
