well done lads, an unexpected win but a very welcome one
not surprising to hear about Northampton being thuggish, that's their usual trick. they were pretty dirty at the home game.

keep on slagging em off clanger, you seem to be doing a great job ;)

Goode throw into the area, tomlinson heads it away (approx 8 yards from our goal line) Maynard wins the ball and Tomlinson had bust a gut to run to the half way line, stopped (or he'd be offside) saw Maynard had kept hold of the ball and Maynard played it forwards for Tomlinson to carry on his run and finish past the keeper. He basically ran 100 yards to score that goal.

Mate of mine who is a Cobblers fan texted me to say that Stone had punched the ball outside the area just before we broke away and scored. Any sign of that in the replay ?

Go to cobblers corner ,next up Mansfield visit , comments from the actual game start on page 3

I kept losing the Mansfield versions of I follow so I changed to Northants radio commentary They were extremely biased and constantly called stags players for diving and stopping play at every opportunity. Good to see a more balanced opinion from cobblers fans .

Shocking match , high tempered and scrappy from both sides. I can't remember us stringing two passes together!! Both sides were diving around and conning the ref.

However... fair play to the lads, it was a battle out there and we come out as winners. Finally some passion and grit this season from the stags team.

I think that was what gave them the throw. It looked close but the camera was on the opposite side of the pitch. Put it this way I wouldn't have complained too much from the camera angle had it been given. Perhaps the ref thought it was borderline and Newport got a throw in which they launch in so just leave it be.

I can't get back into the match feed so can't go have a look. I'm not so sure now you've said that. When I skip back in a game and then use the skip back 10s button I get a weird effect where for a few seconds it's trung to play 2 frames at the same time from different points in the game. Could have been an effect of that made it look like tomlinson won the header.

Yeah I got no idea on that one. I start typing Northampton and after a few letter it suggests Newport so I think I'm being lazy and just tapping that. Have I said Newport all game?

* wherever in this thread I said Newport I meant Northampton.

3pts that's good enough for me, at this stage, I don't give two hoots about the performance.
