Score Fred sponsorship by Khan’s non return

Postby part time pete » Wed Feb 12, 2020 1:50 am

Now it is Wednesday, I feel I must get this posted before any Jack the Lad tries to muscle in on Fred making. Just had a feeling we would have continued the unbeaten run at Orient if I’d been allowed to start the Orient Fred.

So in here lads and lasses.

Welcome back. It's gonna be tough to get back on track though thanks to FTS's 'Charge of the Light Brigade' moment, his lust for glory was pure folly.

Things are so bad now the lads at Rorke's Drift would fancy their chances better

Very worried.Last nights performance was a total shambles. They were better than us all over the pitch. Our midfield is non existent.I expect Evans to start on Saturday and Bobby on the bench. It is difficult to see where the next win is coming from.fortunately we have a cushion of points over Stevenage. For them to overtake us they would need to have promotion form for the rest of the season.I think 46 points will be enough.

Some big decisions for GC in the next 72 hours. Drop Bobby? How does he inject some energy and rigour in to the midfield? Replace Rose with who?

The weather forecast is awful for Saturday, but assuming the game is still on I’d go 1-1

A roller coaster of a game with the lead changing a couple of times.

Maynard to win it 4-3 with two in the last 5 minutes having been allowed to play for the full 90 minutes and showing why he should stay on.

Just thought the above had some relevance to the thread given Khan is mentioned in the title.

I said on another thread that this is similar to the Bradford game in terms of opposition. Newport have lost 6 of their last 7 away from home, and that win came after Scunthorpe went down to ten men with the score at 1-1.

The difference to the Bradford game is that the performances leading in are not as good, and we don't have a full week to prepare.

I think we'll get something out of the game, but I'm not as confident to predict a win as I was with the Bradford game.

I doubt we'll get 46.

Fair points. It will probably be down to who is more confident with both teams having their issues. Hopefully we will score first and manage to keep our concentration.

For me they can hoof the ball over every stand all game as long as we get at least a point.

40 will be enough. Maybe less than that.

Stevenage have 22 from 33 games. They aren’t going to more than double that total in 13 games. At their current points per game rate, we are already safe.

Just seen the weather forecast and you are right it’s awful with both wind and rain . Wouldn’t be at all surprised if this match was postponed along with others .

The aim for the rest of the season is to match or beat stevenage’s results, GC can then have a clean slate next season in my view.

Given the potential weather conditions I’d like us to hope it’s a bit of a leveller and then it’s down to which set of players show the most fight and desire, the test will be for our lads to prove their commitment to the cause.

I think we can get at least a point which I’m hoping will be better than Stevenage’s result.
