What a complete and utter abuse of the loan system. How on earth is this allowed by the FA and Conference.

P.S. Well done to Notts for pulling this off. Genius on their part.

Non league window still open. Notts had a sudden goalkeeper shortage so called him back. He wouldn't have played against his home club anyway. Notts then signed a loanee from Wimbledon and let Fitsimons go back to Spirits.

I'm going to predict they finish 4th bottom and by pure fluke survive relegation. The National League don't seem to have decided how they are making the numbers up with only 1 leaving League 2 and 2 going up. They cant promote different numbers from National North or South so it seems logical only 3 will go down from National League.

The dotted line in Division 2 is above one place

The dotted line above the National League is above the 4th from bottom

So I think it may be 4 down

On the other hand it could also be in the right place....

Unless you mean the one at the bottom of league 2 then we should start to worry about our league status

Edwina to answer you.....

The 2019–20 National League season, known as the Vanarama National League for sponsorship reasons, is the fifth season under English football's new title of National League, the sixteenth season consisting of three divisions and the forty-first season overall.[1]

The National League covers the top two levels of non-League football in England. The National League is the fifth highest level of the overall pyramid,

while the National League North and National League South exist at the sixth level. The top team and the winner of the play-off of the Premier division will be promoted to English Football League Two, while the bottom four are relegated to the North or South divisions. The champions of the North and South divisions will be promoted to the Premier division, alongside the play-off winners from each division.

For this season only, as both North and South will expand to 24 teams each in 2020–21,[2] the bottom two in each division will be relegated to the premier divisions of the Northern Premier League, Southern Football League Central or South, or Isthmian League.

Only three will be relegated from Conference National.

Chesterfield will win the AGM cup this year.

How Chesterfield could still avoid relegation from National League if they finish fourth bottom
Chesterfield could still avoid relegation from the National League even if they finish fourth bottom of the division this season.

The Football Association is believed to be due to make a decison on how many teams will be relegated from the fifth tier this campaign.

Ordinarily four teams would be relegated from the National League but after Bury FC were expelled from the Football League in August it means only one club will come down from League Two.

However, two teams will still be promoted from the National League this season which means the division would be unbalanced for the next campaign with 23 teams instead of 24.

One way the problem could be resolved is by only having three relegation spots in the National League this season, which is what happened last year when fourth-bottom Aldershot Town were saved from the drop at the expense of Gateshead who were expelled.

The Spireites currently sit fourth bottom of the league which could be enough to beat the drop if the FA decide only three teams will go down.

Commenting on the possibility of only three teams being relegated from the league, Spireites caretaker manager, John Pemberton, said: "If we aim to get out of the bottom four then if it happens we won't be in the bottom three so it does not make any difference either way.

"We want to keep that pressure on; we want to get out of the bottom four.
"Even if it is the bottom three it does not make it any easier.

“Fylde have got two games in hand so we have still got to win football matches so at the moment we are concentrating on getting out of the bottom four.”

He added: "They (FA) are talking about it. I have known for the last few weeks. It has been in the pipeline whether it would be three go down or four go down but until they make that make decision we are working on the basis that four go down so we have got to get out of the bottom four.”

SINA, it hasn’t been sorted yet. Either one club will be reprieved from the National League, or an extra team will be promoted from the National League N/S. It hasn’t been announced yet. Going off what has happened in the past, 21st will probably be reprieved, so only three down - that’s speculation on my part though.

https://www.sheffieldwednesday.news/new ... rst-owner/

The Chesterfield chairman Dave Allen appears to have taken aim at his Sheffield Wednesday counterpart Dejphon Chansiri.

Allen spent more than four years at the Hillsborough helm, but is far from fondly remembered by the Wednesday fans – of whom he claimed to be one.

But around 18 months after his 2007 departure, the 77-year-old resurfaced down the road at Chesterfield, where despite some early success he has overseen back-to-back relegations which have led the Spireites out of the Football League.

He was recently named as English football’s ‘worst owner’ in a poll by fans.

But in response to his unwanted accolade, Allen has come out fighting.

I am aware of the survey and I am aware of the dissatisfaction currently shown by the fans,”Allen said, as quoted by The Derbyshire Times. “I have continuously put money into the club and never stripped assets out or sold the stadium to myself like some other owners have done. “When I took over as majority shareholder, I invested in the club and made the new stadium happen. Without my funding, this would have ended up as a totally mismanaged project by the then board of directors. “It pains me to see where the club is currently sitting and yes, I have made mistakes. “I also think that as a club we all have to shoulder some of the blame, including Ashley Carson (company secretary) and the fans. “Some of the ex-managers will tell you that Chesterfield fans are the worst and once they turn on you that is your lot. This is one of the reasons we have had to sack managers but yes, eight managers in 10 years is a failure, but I did not appoint all of these and most of which were well received at the time by the fans. “I have ensured that I have backed every single manager appointed with a playing budget every season falling within the top three, but it is extremely difficult to run a football club and stadium of the Proact’s size and balance the books with the current footfall on a match day. “We have an amazing conference and banqueting suite serving some of the best food in north Derbyshire and we still can’t fill that week on week, but another massive overhead to feed. “Making the numbers stack up now in order to attract a buyer is also proving very difficult, ask the (community) trust. “But all I can do is work hard to try and leave the club with a new owner and this is my sole mission before the end of the season. “I have tried for the last three years to try to sell the club, no one in Chesterfield is showing either the funds or the desire to take it on, I still hope the community trust can get it over the line this month. “One thing remains a priority and that is that I will not be here next season.

Chansiri is one of those known to have sold his club’s stadium to a separate company, registered to himself, in an attempt to circumvent the league’s Profit & Sustainability rules.

Though the act itself is permitted, the timing of Wednesday’s transaction has led to a misconduct charge being filed against the Owls and three of their past and present staff, including the Thai.

According to reports, Wednesday could be hit with a deduction of up to 21 points if found guilty.

Two relegations in successive seasons, languishing near the bottom of the conference, club losing a fortune with spectators staying away? I would say that Mr Allen is doing a cracking job and ought to stay for longer.

We may have to melt down the statue of Sir Jack Lester and use it to make a statue of Dave Allen. (Remember to recycle responsibly).

Seriously though, as ourselves, Notts County and the Spireites can testify it’s not the hope that you have every Saturday that kills you inside it’s the owner that kills the club and you die inside.

And as amusing as this is I would not wish another like Haslam, Hardy, Allen etc on any club at any level for after all, they do not suffer we do.

Having read the article at face value i would suggest neither Allen nor Hardy (who both invested in their clubs) were in the same league as Haslam
