Yeah, yeah, yeah of course we're not involved in a relegation battle
But after tonight we may be a little more nervous or a lot calmer eh!

Could do with Stevenage drawing and Morecambe losing, but Oldham and Port Vale are both winnable for them.
You've got to go there and come back, to know where you've been.

Honestly can’t see Morecambe picking up anymore wins. If they do, it won’t be more than a couple in the current run of form.

Cannot see much from Stevenage either, as they during the last month have lost twice in injury-time as well as conceding an equalizer at Newport in added time. Their defeat against Port Vale last Saturday came about in the final minutes of normal time.
Stockholm, July 4, 2008, 15.00 GMT. Good news came, K.H. gone. March 1, 2012. Ground purchased.

After the next 2 tough games of Plymouth and Bradford, we have Oldham, Carlisle, Morcambe and Leyton Orient. We should know after those if we have a relegation battle on our hands. But yeah 9 points off it feels far more assuring than 6.

Morecambe ahead against Port Vale. Header from a corner, poor marking.
Cameraman continually having to dry the camera lens. Very wet but pitch doesn’t look too bad.

2 nil to Morecambe.
... And we're still not on a relegation battle?

2-0 to Morecambe after 12 minutes. More dreadful defending from Vale as Stockton left in yards of space in the box

HT Morecambe 2-0 Port Vale. Morecambe very lively going forward and deserve to be 2 ahead. Port Vale hopeless, and not had a shot yet.

Not surprised about Morecambe gaining points. Let's hope that Stevenage don't start picking up points too!

Vale pull one back. Great shot out of the blue from Gibbons.

Shrewsbury go on to get Liverpool.
After the ridiculous tactics that dumpster deployed when they went down to 10 that’s just another kick in the teeth this season.

Thoroughly deserved victory for Morecambe. They played well, especially in the first half. Vale got a goal out of the blue in the second half, and for ten minutes then looked dangerous, but then relapsed into doing nothing.

I watched the Morecambe game as well. They were good value for their two goal lead in the first half. Adam Phillips (21) on loan from Burnley had a very good first half in midfield for Morecambe before he was replaced by John O'Sullivan at half time. He curled a corner in to the near post for Stephen Old to head home on 6 minutes and then he played great ball across the goal for Cole Stockton to tap in for the second on 12 minutes. He put it on a plate for him. It was only his second league start. The first one was at home against Colchester on Saturday and he got Man of the Match in that game. He's definitely one to watch. Apparently he has previously suffered from back injuries. Derek Adams had also signed a couple of former Plymouth players in Jordan Slew and Toumani Diagouraga (32). The latter had a good first half and gave Morecambe a bit of presence in the middle of the park. The Morecambe commentator kept referring to him as "Big Dave" which is his nickname at the club. In the 2nd half, Morecambe fans were chanting "Fu*k off Ritchie Bennett, we've got Toumani". He ran out of steam a bit in the 2nd half.
Tom Conlan had a good chance to pull a goal back for Port Vale at the start of the 2nd half but George Tanner made a great block. Morecambe then had another couple of chances to clinch the game but Scott Brown saved well from Sam Lavelle and Carlos Mendes Gomes. Port Vale did not really get going until they brought on Ritchie Bennett and Mark Cullen to replace Scott Burgess and Tom Pope. They pulled a goal back on 71 minutes when right back James Gibbons (21) cut in on the edge of the area and curled a shot into the far corner with his left foot. He was Port Vale's Man of the Match. He has plenty of energy and bombs forward well. He's done well against the Stags this season. Port Vale were then right on top but could not create anything. Morecambe managed to regain control for the last 10 minutes and ran the clock down well by keeping the ball in the corner and winning free kicks. Morecambe's Man of the Match was their Spanish wide player, Carlos Mendes Gomes (21).
Ritchie Sutton was on the bench for Morecambe but did not get on. He's played 11(3) league games this season.
Attendance was 1,639 (212 from Port Vale).
