Just poor. Port Vale were wasteful and were there for the taking. But 86 minutes to make an attacking sub sums us up.

For me OSJ is now ahead of MacDonald in the pecking order. Too many experienced pros playing like they've only just starting playing football yesterday.

As for not getting the breaks, we get our breaks from our opponents poor finishing. Make no mistake, Port Vale would have won at a canter if Pope was playing tonight.

Is everyone including the owners so clueless...the players are doing what they need to do to get rid of the manager...you can disagree with it as much as you like...it’s happening.

I'm not disagreeing. The only thing I did was say they are playing like they only started out yesterday. I thought it was so obvious it didn't need saying. .

We needed to act after Cambridge farce

Played 4
Won 1
Drawn 3
Lost 0

In any other circumstances we would be feeling sorry for ourselves.

Funny old game isn't it?

It can't be the players. They are the best squad in the league and Flitcroft did a disastrous job by not getting promoted with this squad.

Or.......We sacked a very capable manager and gave the job to this joker.

I said it after the first home game because it was already blatantly obvious to see then. No fitness, no discipline and no plan. Absolute garbage

Experienced pros know when they have a manager who is out of his depth and will show it. And boy are they showing it. Rudderless ship.

I agree players get managers the sack. It is really hard when a young manager takes on their first role in management. Especially when they are seen as one of the boys. I am not saying JD is like that. Just guessing he might be going by his wiki page (ex teammate). If players are not pulling their weight there is little he can do. Especially if fans are starting to turn. Which makes his job twice as hard. Senior pros should be more professional. But it is not uncommon for some to think they know better.

we need change now. Same as when Evans came in.... Few games to asses the squad then bin some in Jan and bring in something new and try to salvage the season.

This season is done. If a new manager gets us to the playoffs, would we even be ready for league one ?!

I don't think the players can be blamed.

Pre season was an absolute shambles this year. We have had a ridiculous amount of injuries which goes beyond bad luck and in my opinion is due to poor conditioning. The discipline has been appalling with players being arrested and a high volume of suspensions. The tactics are that poor that our big name striker often looks completely dejected.

All of these are clear indications of poor leadership and management. The manager is responsible for motivating the players and upholding performance standards. He is failing miserably on and off the pitch

Did he do it on purpose to oil the gears of getting dempster gone!?

Starting to look that way. Would not be the first time player power would see the back of a manager.

This is so depressing, don't even know if I want us to win or lose anymore.
The life is being sucked out of the club by these lack lustre performances.
After two really good seasons the appointment of Dempster has completely changed everything.

No desire, no excitement and as a result no atmosphere.
This time last year I would have been Port Vale cheering on the team, crap competition or not.
Tonight like many others I couldn't be bothered.

Please make it stop JR we all want to have something to shout about!

Pre season was just so CR could show the roller off picking up Maynard in that cringe video.

You need to.go and educate yourself on basic principles of motivation and human psychology Spiro if you think people can give 100% at all times.

You might also want to consider that they have been trying to play 100% to the managers tactics and are fed up of not then not being fit for purpose.

Last pre-season we went to Portugal, trained hard and came back to play 4 championship teams off the park with our brand of high energy, free flowing and exciting football.

This year we went to Portugal and came back to look pedestrian against some under 23 teams.

The writing was on the wall from then.

The defending for the first goal is shocking. There are 5 or 6 players just strolling around. No urgency. No recognition of the fact that if Alistair Smith is under pressure and so if loses the ball then the Stags are in trouble.

I also think that Bobby should have saved Jake Taylor's shot for the second goal. He was beaten on his near post which he seemed to have well covered. Conrad would have been hammered on here. His distribution tonight was also not as good as Conrad.
