One for the stattos

Is it the first time we have played five consecutive competitive games away from home.

Well Pete I suppose it depends what you call competitive games. I don't think we were actually competitive in most of them. :D

35 days between home league games can’t have occurred often, aside from postponements.

The fixtures have not been kind this season to the fans that just attend home games.
Hardly any Saturday games (ie big gaps between them). Only played 6 home Saturday games this season up to now compared with 9 away (that is some disparity). Last season 8 were scheduled for the same period.
The first 6 midweek night games were all at home and we will not have an away midweek night league game until the end of January!!!
Also poor planning by the fixture compilers in giving teams two away (or two home) games in between the 1st and 2nd round FA Cup games.
It was possible to be at home or away for all four fixtures.
This season just seems very lopsided.

It’s given the grass plenty of time to recover, though.

It’s not ideal that’s for sure.

But then again, surely not seeing us for 35 days at present must be some form of perverse bonus

What about when we re-developed the ground, pretty sure we played away a lot then, including a home game at mardy lane.

I don’t think anyone wants to go on Saturday.

But it’s sticking with them through thick and thin.

I want to go. Wouldn't miss it for the world. It's the aftermath that I hate if we lose

We've played four on a couple of occasions, i.e. in 1968-69 and 1984-85. Also in 1978-79 when we finished that season with SIX consecutive home fixtures.
Stockholm, July 4, 2008, 15.00 GMT. Good news came, K.H. gone. March 1, 2012. Ground purchased.

One word answers, wrong answers or posts which make you look a little daft.

Fortunately I’ve goldfish, which should provide a similar response of use.

Absolutely. I've saved £££'s and also saved valuable hair follicles not pulling them out watching that tripe.

Wrexham home league cup played at Notts Co
Plymouth - league

The Wrexham game was a home game although not played at FM.

It was a run of 5 games away from FM but the Wrexham game was not an away game.

Questionable whether the County Cup counts as a competitive game.

On a slightly different theme what is the longest period between home games during a season? Even I can't recall 1947 (the year after I was born) but I seem to remember a bad winter in I think 1961 when there was hardly any football played for a couple of months. We played several away games at grounds that were not badly affected by the frost and I believe one club had undersoil heating. But we didn't see any football at Field Mill for ages
