Hi there Stags fans

Postby up north » Fri Nov 29, 2019 10:37 pm

Just joined the forum.

Now in North Yorkshire but coming back home to South Yorkshire in early 2020.

Mansfield will be my local town and football club although it is 6 and 1/2 dozen with chesterfield.

Thinking of coming along to a few games this season.

I was brought up a blade but spent most of my adulthood in Scotland following Rangers FC.

For the last 10 years, I have been living in Knaresborough and don't get to Ibrox much due to distances involved so I have been following my local side Harrogate Town.

So Im a bit mixed up. A blades / gers and town fan ;-)

The good news is my wifes side of the family follow Mansfield (born and bred).

Hopefully, unlike chesterfield (been once not again) I will be welcome to take in a few games at the Field Mill. I will even wear my royal blue scarf.

Anyway, guys as an adopted fan. I look forward to coming along with family and cheering the stags on. :coys:

Hi Up North and welcome,

Always good to have another stags fan, we can’t guarantee wins or great football (especially at the moment!) but we’re doing better than them the wrong side of the M1!

Welcome UN it's nice to read you've seen the light and decided to journey the right side of the M1....

When you say Royal Blue scarf it's for your beloved Rangers n not the cheating raspberry bags 9 miles away

Enjoy your time following the Stags like many across the UK following the boys can be a rollercoaster of a wide but the supporters especially away are loud n proud

Thx @Jimstag / @Martin Shaw,

@STINA STAG yes sorry for not making that clear regarding scarf loyalties, It would be my royal blue rangers scarf but will add a nice enamel stag crest to it.

Tough cup game tomorrow against the Shrews. What are the hopes this season? A Cup run and league safety (mid table)?

That's how bad we are at the moment! Our objective was to finish top three, our budget is top3 we have. A manager and a squad that is underperforming.

Nice one mate. I'm from Bolsover, lived here all my life. If you want any tips feel free to PM me, there's a group of us from Boza who also go to a lot of away games with the Shirebrook Stags you're more than welcome to join us.

I also know a few lads from Boza who regularly go to Ibrox on a coach.

Welcome I live in Bolsover too next door to a Spireite. There's an even mix of Stags and Chesterfield fans here I think. Glad you chose to support the local football league club anyway.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Great to know there a few bluenoses in bolsover, my two sons will certainly be glad to know theres a coach that goes to Ibrox for the games.

Will start to follow your results and prepare myself for the rollercoaster.

Harrogate town away to Sutton United today, Hopefully 3 points and the push to join Mansfield next season will be on. We beat chesterfield last week. And will hopefully be settled in our new home the time Harrogate visit Chesterfield for another easy 3 points in February. :P

Any promising players coming through for the Stags?

Who is the Star player?

Also any oldies like myself remember John McClelland playing for Mansfield?

Hard game today at Shrewsbury, but being a cup game you never know. I noticed the last 10 games against the shrews is (3w, 2l, 5d) so lets do it :coys:

 ok thanks. I have strong opinions but I respect everyone who has their own. So I tend to just agree to disagree instead of name calling :D And if I do it due to too many alcoholic beverages  (rare these days) I would always apologise once my head clears  After all others pay for that right. I have not given the club a single pound yet. But once I have spent hard earned money, giving my support, after traveling great distances, and I believe that someone is not pulling their weight, then they can expect nuclear cyber rants. :D Not one who is happy clapping when something is blatantly wrong. :?

ps Maybe need a few full stops above, but its Sunday :)
