Listened to the match, watched the highlights, stags should have won 5-3 but ball not running for us, bring sterling and c/j very wide, and watch us climb
1946/47 stag.

And that’s exactly the reason you can’t get a full picture by watching the highlights.
No way should we have won 5-3.
Yes we had some good chances to score but so did Swindon, they looked a really good side and we struggled to cope at times.
A draw would have been a fair result

A draw would have been an EXCELLENT result. A 1-0 defeat to the league leaders is, in itself, not the end of the world.

Except we should be up alongside the ‘league leaders’, given all the talk for the last few years.
So now a narrow loss is a good result?

If we were where we should be, then you're right. But we're not. Even Dempster acknowledged that draws are no good any more, he needs wins. Hopefully he'll be gone by the time we're contesting the next result.

Have to say he is way wide of the mark on the JD issue. Those of us who have had to witness the dross served up at the One Call this season know that a managerial change is due and the sooner the better.
JD was an honourable appointment, reward for past success at the academy but sorry he has not been able to work his majic on full grown proffesional footballers, kids will have looked up to JD, men are different.
Given that yesterday's performance was much improved and not the "dross served up at the One Call", doesn't he deserve a bit more time ?
Or do we just judge him on half a season ?
Yes we judge him on half a season, he and his team are not getting results, played better OK but still they lost.

The fact that JD played a defensive team against Macclesfield and then an attacking team against Swindon says it all.
An experienced and a positive manager would have done the opposite and might have got 4 points instead of 1.

I was happier after a narrow defeat than I was when we got a point at Moss Rose. When I go to watch my team I always judge the game overall. We were poor at macc but were excellent at Swindon. They were hanging on at the end.If we carry on playing that way we should win more than we lose. The next few games will give an indication of how we will finish up.
