Should CJ leave in January

Postby sunray » Sat Nov 09, 2019 11:48 pm

CJ no longer features in JD preferred team and gets 10 minutes if he's lucky at the end.

His performance under JD is poor compared to previous managers. Is it better for his career to move or a loan to another L2 club to get game time and return to his previous performance level.

It would free up money for JD to improve his team as he said he wanted to do on the radio.

It was an odd cameo yesterday. He came on, got assist for the assist, then never really looked interested.

No.

Hopefully the lesson was learned with Clucas.

His form this season has been very disappointing. Both of the previous 2 managers mentioned how much time they put in to CJ with one on one training and we saw what he can do. Are Dempster & Glover giving him the same attention and if so is that training good enough (same with the defence actually)? He’s clearly the kind of player that needs that.

I don’t want to see him move on personally. He’s a good asset at this level when he’s being used correctly, and if a new manager came in and got the best out of him again for a few months I think we’d get a better price than what we’d get in Jan.

To leave the one player who would scare a defensive with pace out the team is indefensible imo. No wonder CJ has a lack of confidence. JD is clueless.

Nobody would buy him surely. Loan with a recall clause maybe.

Rightly or wrongly talked about as a million pound transfer to the championship 9 months ago. In last seasons league 2 team of the year. Being ruined by a clueless manager. We need a change quick before he's allowed to do some serious damage to the club.

Are you kidding. Any manager with any idea of positive attacking football would snap him up. Get him playing like last season and sell him for a massive profit.

I remember Dempster quoting how he loved a scrap as a player and his style of football/tactics would reflect this.this is why theres no place in the team for arguably the best playmaker we have.its cox/clucas part 2

If someone came in for CJ I can’t see why he’d want to stay, as many have said it feels like the Clucas situation over again.

How does the idea of letting JD loose with money not terrify you?

CJ Hamilton was one of the best wingers in the league last season under Flitcroft. As frustrating as he can be with his inconsistent delivery and end product, he is a valuable asset. His skill set is bang on for what you want from a winger in the lower levels of the EFL. If I was CJ though, I would be looking at a move away- where he can go now is another matter, but under a manager that isn't a total spud, he will revisit his form of last season. That I am certain of.

CJ is one of our best attacking players. We definitely should not let him go in January.
JD's management of CJ has been appalling.

Bolton will have an eye on CJ for sure . They will be aware he’s on the bench here.

If we are going to play a back 4 then Benning and CJ start on the left with Hayden at RB and Gordon on the right wing

Play your best players in their best positions football is not a difficult game

I'll bet you a Cornish pasty, Bolton's management for one are peeing themselves with excitement at the prospect of picking up CJ for peanuts. ;)

Barnsley could be interested if Adam keeps the job. It would be a good signing for both parties. Better to get 10 minutes in a Championship game than 5 minutes in L2

If JD is still here at the end of the year I can't see why CJ would want to stay. I assume CJ is out of contract at the end of season, so a January sale could suit both parties.

There was no pace anywhere in the side yesterday and hasn't been all season it's why our attacks are pedestrian.
Colchester ripped us with pace all over the pitch last week and we can't get CJ in the side!!!!
