Any tasty home draw we may have got would probably have resulted inn the game being switched to Sunday....
Didn't our FA Cup game against Guiseley get switched to a Sunday? What was the reason for that?

Victory Park
watched Sutton Town lose an FA Trophy replay there in the 1980's
I went to the 1st game at lowmoor road. Drew 1-1.
I saw Leeds United play at Lowmoor Road many, many years ago. Leeds won 4-0 I think, I think that was probably in the 80's too.
I think they played leeds for the 1st game with the floodlights
Yes that was it I remember now, still got the programme somewhere.

I thought the minute I saw the draw that this’ll be one of the sunday games.
There wasn’t a massive amount of games that stood out

TV only interested if lesser club is at home. Give's them a chance to talk about (the lack of) facilities.

they'll pick the live UK games for BBC and BT, then the live overseas game (that will probably involve a former top flight club, like Sunderland, Charlton, Bolton), then choose about 7 more for Sunday coverage of live snippets and goals. Bound to take a few days I would have thought.

They do, think he was referring to last year when our game with them was moved when in league 1

I cant remember the full reason for that change and the Charlton change last year but I think it was at the request of the FA for games to be played on Sunday...... but the obvious issue this year would have been the Florist v Derby game kicking off at 1230 on the Saturday.
I think if you play on a Sunday you could get some extra TV revenue even if its not a fully Live game

The Guiseley game was for live snippets and goals on BBC MOTD live programme. The Charlton game was for live overseas coverage. Both get a bit of extra cash for TV coverage, but last year the extra cash for the Charlton game barely if at all covered the loss of cash for Charlton away fans who would have come on the Saturday (my estimates here
https://stagsnet.net/match/reports/view ... atchid=956).
It is possible the Chorley game could be moved as the Guiseley game was.

Nor was the invisible but very heartfelt cost (paid for by millions of lives) of playing the game on Remembrance Sunday.

What does that matter FTS....once the clubs take the broadcasting money they wash their hands of the impact on travelling fans.

Sadly it can become self fulfilling for larger teams. Random times deter fans from attending so more watch on tv. It’s many but what would the viewing figure be for a random non-league game?
