FA at grass roots level will start sin bins 1player goes in for dissent 2 for words gestures questioning or undermining the refs decisions 3 this is for 10 mins continues into 2 half and extra time player cannot be substituted as new rules are tried at this level would it be good in the football leagues

Its chaos for referee to police at grassroots level. We've found that out already. OK , if you've got a bank of people monitoring player movements.

One example of a player sin-binned in the game I was at this evening. As it happened in the final 10 minutes, the player did not return.

I think sin bins are a good idea.It gives the binned player to calm down and think about his error.

It could work the other way though; If a player has been sin-binned, and feels aggrieved because he thinks he should not have been, he may come back on the pitch even more wound up than before . This is where managers and staff have a job to do calming players down before they go back on.
The sin-bin does on the face of it seem a good idea, but , as pointed out earlier, would be a real pain to administer. The 4th officials have both sets of coaching staff in their tabs all game as it is, so no doubt would be getting further pressure applied after about 8 or 9 minutes in the bin, with arguements about time-keeping etc.

Something like this is long overdue, though the officials need to enforce the new rule(s), no use having something new then not using it.
